WTB Used/Burnout Coils
Hey all.
I'm going to be making a wiring harness for using some LS2 ignition coils. Problem is, I can't locate the connector needed to make a complete harness, so I'll have to make a connector by hacking up some OEM RX8 coils.
So, I'm looking to buy some used coils cheap...doesnt matter if they are burnt out or not, just need them for the connector side.
Thanks!

There is a lot of information in this thread.

You can get the connectors from MSD and there is another site I don't remember at the moment. Buy another piece of the oem wiring harness associated with the oem coils and patch in the ls2 connectors.
Edit: Here is another source for the LS2 connectors w/pigtails. http://roblinstores.com/cables/index...e12b0090bbbda0

Thanks all! I'm out for the weekend so I'll send a PM when I get back in on Sunday or Monday.
Thanks alnielsen. What I am trying to build is something that can be completely removable from the car with just connectors so I don't have to touch the engine harness. Only piece I can't find is the connector that would take the place of the OEM coil. And from that connector make the adapters using the LS2 pigtails. I know those connectors are out there, but I can't track them down. I was just going to buy the BHR adapters but they are not offering them anymore, just the complete kit. I have the tooling and stuff so I'd like to build this all myself.
Thanks!

I think that would be $$....haha. Best option would be to find those connectors! Still on the hunt. I found MSD has some 3 wire connectors in pairs, but I have no idea if they are the same ones as our OEM setup...i doubt they are. If no luck here, I'll take one of you guys up on your offers.
Thanks!

The MSD pigtails are the same as my link above: http://roblinstores.com/cables/index...e12b0090bbbda0
When BHR was developing their kit, Ray had trouble finding the connector that would be the same as the coil end. He eventually found them though.

You can't buy the coil-equivalent connectors as individual pieces.
If you figure out who makes them, you will be able to buy a few thousand of them at a time if want, though!
As for harvesting them from burned coils, you cant really do that, either.
The coils are "potted", so there isn't any way to cut them off and leave them intact.
This is why the only other coil-replacement system still on the market that isn't BHR requires that you hack up your OE harness.
