WTS Veilside D1GT Body Kit Pics Up
Hello,
I have a Veilside D1GT Body Kit for 2004-2008 RX8. This is the same body kit used in the RX8 in Fast and Furius 3: Tokyo Drift.
The kit has never been painted but has been worked on my a local body shop here in my city. They have re-enforced the Body Kit and placed bracketry in it.
The Kit includes the front bumper, 2 side skirts, and the rear bumper. The body shop took too long to finish so I ditched the project and had my Mazda Dealership install a Mazda Speed body kit on the Car.
I paid $2000 for the Body Kit and invested over $1000 for the body work.
I will take a loss on it and Sell for $1799 + Shipping unless you arrange to pickup the body kit yourself (probably cheaper).
I take money order or cash if Face To Face or Paypal but please add 4% to cover for paypal fees.
I know I am new here but Buy with confidence with my 100% ebay feedback and numerous other positive feedback on other sales sites and forums.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
The weather is not good here but I found some old pictures from before while the body kit was still on the car.
So here they are:
Thank you
Gene

urethene or fiberglass ? cause $2000 + shipping sounds too expensive... since you posted the bodyshop charged you over $1000 on work, i supose it's a replica, cause if authentic you just paint and bolt on...
anyways , please post pictures for those who are interested... and provide more details... and good luck with the sale...

Um Noooo.....Veilside has a Urethane kit that sells for less and that might be a bolt on and I stress might. But everyone who has actually dealt with a REAL Veilside FIBERGLASS kit (FRP--Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) knows they are not a bolt on and go kit.
From the factory:
They only have 4 mounting holes for the front bumper that don't 100% fit. 2 on the top lip, and 2 behind the front signal lights (1 on each side). The side skirts have No holes so you will need to figure out how to attach that to your car. The rear bumper is also attached with 4 screws as well. None of the original parts of the kit address how to attach the bottom of the kit to the car.
Now:
Front bumper mounts with the oringinal mounting holes plus now a kit that is re-enforced and a way to mount the bottom of the bumper to the car.
Side skirt now has 4 mounting holes and is also re-enforced for greater strength.
Rear bumper also re-enforced for greater strength and and has a way to mount the bottom of the bumper to the car.
Have you ever seen guys with body kits on the highway and the you see the bumper that just keeps "flapping in the wind" Well those are the ones that thought their fiberglass kit was a bolt on without re-enforcing the bottom. The D1GT body kit was originally a Show car only kit but I wanted it for a daily driver and for highway use that is why the re-enforcements are there.
Go to body-kitz.com since that is where I got the kit originally and ask them if the Veilside D1GT body kit for the Mazda RX8 is a bolt and go kit and for a daily highway use. Remember this is the fiberglass kit not the urethane kit.
I will have pictures up soon. The weather just needs to get better here in IL.
Thank you

Hey Gene... thanks for the update , so bottom line it's a replica FRP, I find it hard for someone to pay $2000 + shipping on your kit, I may be wrong but seems to high even if it's a re-enforced kit... allthough the kit looks sweet when mounted properly but for the rates of how FRP kits sell you might get lucky and sell it quick for the right price ...
BTW your mazdaspeed kit installed by the dealer, how much did you pay the dealer for thefull bodykit, installation and paint ?

dam.. 100% FAIL
I would of bought a wide bodykit from R-Magic w/ fenders , wheels, suspension, engine upgrades etc... having to spend $3000 and not even painted ... WOW I'd be really pissed if it was me and the fact having the ballz to even drop the current project and purchase another kit is amazing ... o well , it's not my pocket ..
Bump and Good Luck with the sale !!!!

OK,
This is getting way out of hand.
What happend to the RULES here. No trashing other people's sales posts.
Calling my item Fake without any proof is Slander.
I bought an AUTHENTIC Veilside D1GT body kit and I am selling it since I have a Mazda Speed Body kit installed on my car now.
I don't know where the 11 mounting points are but mine only came with 4 (2 on the Front lip and 2 behind the the signal light--1 on each side) there is 2 (1 on each wheel well) where the wheel well actually meets the the plastic but I would not call that a mounting point since it does not properly line up with where the plastic clips go. There are no mounting points at the bottom especially since the bottom of the kit sits much lower than the bottom plastic that originally meets up with the Original Mazda bumper.
By the way there is a Large Veilside Label that is fiberglassed into the inside of the Front and Rear bumper on this kit.
Veilside Brian where were your 11 mounting points? I don't want to question your credentials but I guess I could have made my screen name as VeilsideGene and become a Veilside expert.

As you can see from the japanparts.com the D1GT body kit is over $2400 from there an the kit is not guaranteed to fit right and will require work from your body shop that is willing to work on them.
Mine is already done with the fitting so it will fit right. That is where all the money went. Just needs to get its final sanding and painted and you are good to go.

I understand and would be cautious too which is why I would prefer you pick it up so you can see the kit before you purchase it. As for the zero post yeah we all started out with zero post in the beginning-- even you Bigbacon, but we have to start sometime.
Anyways, Pics up. Will post more current pics when the weather gets nicer here (or better yet--just come over and I can show you in person).
And as always try to pay me leaving a paper trail (paypal or money order)--it protects you and me.

You should post pictures of something confiming that they are real VeilSide parts. Seems like it could be real, but there are no markings that prove it in the photos.
(just helping you with your sale)
