Alright this is for chrism and anyone else who is interested. When I had the kit installed the body shop people asked me how I was going to use my car. I replied I would use it as a daily driver. They called up Veilside and according to the body shop people the Veilside people laughed at them when they told the Veilside people that I wanted to use the body kit on a daily driver. Veilside told the body shop people that the body kit was for babied show cars and not for the rigors of everyday use. Not trying to say anything bad about the Veilside people just that this is what the body shop people told me. In fact I had a very nice conversation with Ray at Veilside USA recently so I guess my experience with Veilside was a little different than that of the body shop people. Anyways, the body shop people recommended that I re-enforce the body kit with fiberglass and bracketry. They ended up covering the back side of the 4 pieces of the kit with fiberglass, bracketry, and a white coating they called gelcoat. I know nothing about gelcoats but they told me that the gelcoat is used to protect the fiberglass from the elements. They are the experts so I trusted them. When I bought the kit I originally plan to use the kit, not to sell it so it did not occur to me to tell the body shop people not to cover the logos and serial number on the back side of each piece. I only saw the kit 1 time when it arrived at the shop before they started working on the kit to verify that it was an authentic veilside kit.
If I remember correctly there were 4 locations for the logos on the body kit. For the front bumper the logo is on the inside of the bumper above the radiator openning. The logo is on the inside of the side skirts near the middle but towards the back right about where the rear and front door would meet. As for the rear bumper the logo was on the inside above the license plate openning. I only saw the kit once before the body people started reinforcing the kit with fiberglass but if I remember correctly those are the locations I saw the logos on the kit.
As for the metal logos for the skirt yeah I have them. There was a place on the back part of the side skirt where the metal logo would go after you paint. I though that was stupid to put the metal logo there since if you look at almost every car with this kit no one ever put their logo there. I had the "divot" "hole" whatever you want to call it filled so it is now smooth there. Just look at the picture with the side skirts. You will notice that the area where the rectangular "divot" is supposed to be has been filled with a gray area--I don't know what they used but it was the filler. The front bumper and rear bumper if I remember correctly also had this and I had that filled as well--hey its my car not Veilside's car so why would I badge it Veilside.
Other than that the only other way I can provide proof is by getting my old credit card statement showing you how much I paid and when and where I purchased the kit. Since the kit was delivered straight to the body shop I do not have the original invoice or receipt of the kit. I am currently working with my credit card company to get a copy of the archived statement. Once I get that I can give the exact date I bought the kit information to the original place I purchased the kit so they can find the archived invoice/receipt of my purchase and mail that to me.
I will get the pictures of the kit with the statement and invoice at the same time so you know the kit and invoice go together (proves I am not just taking someone elses pictures off the net or something). Thank you for you patience.
Thank you for your inquiries and concerns. I am going through all this to try to make you guys happy.
Thank you
Gene

ok no problem.....bit there is one spot inside the mouth of the bumper on the lower part that has a raised logo that would be too much unnecessary work to smooth out......take a pic of that.....and just to help you out i used my VS kit as a daily for years......driving on pothole ridden streets of NYC Metro

Hey Gene,
This is Ray from VeilSide. Brian let me know about this thread. It was a pleasure speaking with you yesterday.
As I mentioned yesterday, locate your original invoices so we can track back your original order to verify if bodykits.com sold you an authentic kit or not. By indications of your descriptions, I would suspect that they may have sold you a fake as authentic. I would recommend that you bring this up with them as that is an illegal transaction.
Also your body shop has not spoken to us here as Brian and I are the only ones that answer the phones and we would never ridicule any issues a customer is having. We also would not ridicule our own parts by informing customers that our product is not street drivable.
If it is in fact authentic, I suspect your fitment issues may be due to the fact that you changed the thickness of the kit by adding additional fiberglass to the backside of the bumper, which would cause it to hit your reinforcement bars on the inside of the bumpers.

Hey Gene, thank you for getting me that information. It was difficult to trace back this original order since it went through 3 other parties, but we have verified that your VeilSide authentic kit was picked up from our location on 9/26/06.

THREAD RESURRECTION! I came across this thread looking for info on fitment or quality of Veilside body kits, side skirts to be exact. So after reading all of it, it turns out this authentic Veilside body kit was no better than the aftermarket copies? Anyone else with this kit care to chime in so I can make a researched decision before I buy the Veilside side skirts? Chrism?
