at 2700 pounds, 13:0 comp ratio, VQ V6 pushing 400++hp*, it cant zoom zoom... it wants to blow up =d
* the 8 probably makes 420hp according to other threads, not sure the exact number, and it weights 2200lbs!!!.... you'll need quite a lot more hp to push the 2700pounds around

anyone know the dimensions of the rear tires on the Speedsource GT cars? they looked huge on TV, and I just wondered what size they were.
That Z looks pretty good, but still not as good as the 8.

and how did they get to 400+ HP on the V6. We have a guy from here in GA that has a Z, pushing over 400, but he has a twin turbo setup, and has swapped out almost everything on the car. How do they do it in Grand Am?

I don't follow Nissan that much either so I do not know if it is a factory backed team or not. Though, besides having everything in the engine being replaced, race fuel, compression, and ecu I don't think there is anything else to get the power up in the car. I already think the VQ is stretched as it is but then to make it a race engine? They should have went with the V8 instead.

the diference in the rx-8 and other cars is not only the hp but also the torque( I bet you did not know that ) thats from where the weight diference is from, but most car are over 500 hp

well, zoom zoom or not, they just can't stay on the track. in the GS class, last year, they always come up lame, busted this, busted that, tires are getting shredded. last year, in GS, the Mustang won 1 race, at Barber. And that race was cut short due to bad weather. I just don't see the GT car being a much better effort, but the season is still very young, and it will be fun as hell to watch it unfold.

yah, it'll be fun as hell to watch this season, the GT class is a lot more fun to watch than just ST. if the TV coverage stays the same for the GT class, it'll be a really enjoyable season for us. i wouldnt mind giving some of the TV coverage to other cars, last race we got a lot, and although it can never be too much, i'd like to know wat goes on with the other cars as well! the mustang, M3... and oh, the pontiacs taking each other out? lol that was funny as hell.

yeah, the Ponitac incident was one for the highlight reel, but that is racing.
I can't wait for the next event to be on, it is a lot fo fun to watch, and IMO more fun to watch than Formula 1 anymore, that has gotten boring. I sitll watch it, but it is a lot less entertaining.
