Man, what a day.
although it was a bad day at the track I would take it over a good day at work anyday.

I think what Keith said is the truth. We had gotten there just before 12. sat around int he heat all day. worked for a long session, then sat some more in the heat waiting to run. Keith was feeling like he was going to throw up, Denward was not feeling so hot himself. I was feeling ok, just tired.

It's been a while since I have gotten lost on course, but my first run I was compleatly clueless in section 4, and also DNFed in section 2. so I really messed up my first run.

had an instructor drive for me, that helped.

2nd run I STILL got lost in section 4.

3rd run was a lot better, could have driven the ENTIRE course much faster. wound up running a 64.034 and hit two cones right at the timing lights. had I not hit those cones (and keith still hit his) I would have placed first, but instead I got 5th. (out of 9)

at the end of the day I was very frustrated with getting lost, and overall waiting the almsost 6 hours for the 3 runs.

all well, cant win them all. goes to show how much drivers fatigue can play. I am sure Munchoff and Isley could have gone out there and still done well. the S2000 that I had a hard time beating last time didnt do as good either. the Supra wound up winning. I am glad for him. he got some real tires finally and its nice to see him do well, he is a nice guy.......... but it wont happen again.

It was also nice getting to talk to him, and Marshal, and the S2000 guys, and meeting the guyt hat instructed for me. (I wanted Munchoff to instruct but teh guy was pretty insistant that he drive.)

Bummer that you didn't do well Casey, but if you had to lose to anyone, I'm glad it was the Supra and not the S2000. Nothing against the driver, I'm just biased against S2000's...

Besides, Aaron's a good guy and has been working on that car's setup for a while. He switched back to the factory twin turbo setup (used to have a big aftermarket turbo), and some of his friends and roommates are pretty good at vehicle setup. Marshall designed the suspension in the 2006 Cal Poly FSAE car.

I should be at next month's event, so I can see you back out there giving 'em hell!

he he he... yeah thats the plan.

point wise, it was better for me to have the Supra win also.

hey now, all this love for Casey and his nice new jacket...

....but yes, as I said then, it was better (given points) for the Supra to win.....then the S2000.

I don't even want to see how I finished...I probably pulled in 6th....just kills me, cause I did have the speed, just the nausea and the approaching MIgraine...no excuses though, we'll all alloud an off day at a local event. Lets hope the heat is not an issue on the 24/25th.

BSP is looking like it is going to be fun all year, as long as that dream killer (Team Berry and the white Evo) keeps racing in other classes

yeah, we had 9 drivers this time, if you were to add the novice BSP miata that would have been 10, plus the white evo could have been 12, and Michelle could have been 13, Jesse plans to run that will be 14, and if Cesar ran like he was suposed to that would have been 15. (point of this story is we had the potentioal of 15 drivers, way more then out normal 5.)

I agree it was a pretty crappy day. Sometimes it's just not worth being in the heat and wind all day for 3 runs. I didn't even get home until 8:45.

I seem to be well off the pace the last couple events. I thought my lines were pretty good, but the times just weren't there. Maybe I'm not driving hard enough. I did walk the course a couple of times and had a plan, which helped me to be consistent over the 3 runs and take advantage of the BSP boys having trouble. At least I dominated B-stock.

MP5, is there anyway to show the actual points for each race on your spreadsheet, in addition to the total? Just wondering how far I was off the pace today due to the cone-age. Looking at scratch times, I had the fastest scratch time in BSP...and am wondering how close that would have put me to Ulllose (I do realize I had a cone, but just was wondering cause I felt good on about 98% of the course). One of the only times, in a while, where I felt fast, and in total control. It seems that the last couple events, I have been in control, but that feeling of speed and pushing the car just hasn't been there.

this time I felt complete loss of controll. first time in a ong time I have been lost, and felt I had no controll of the course. after the 3rd run and learning the course, I feel I could have picked up a TON of time. I never really felt like I pushed the car. it was more of a "am i even in the right spot" feeling.

still not even sure how I managed to hit those comes at the finish, I truly did not feel I was pushing it very hard.

all well.... just looking forward to the next 2 events.

Click the "Events" link at the top of the page. That's where all the data is. The standings page is just a sorted summary.

In looking at the event data, Casey and I were equally bad this event...losing 3 points from our results from the first event....where as Erica actually gained a point due to this course layout.

Ullose was commenting that there were a lot fo corners that were slow for him...which is good for us, because on faster courses, he is much faster than us. We all benefit from slower courses, when trying to reach the points leader.

Same tires I was on last week. I was in the first heat, Ryan ran 5th. He beat me twice heads up last year, something the Sol has not done.

Pro Solo questions:

How does the timing work....is it best run on track A plus best run on Track B....or is it best run from Day 1 plus best time from day 2...or is it just your best time?

What kind of timing light is it? Casey and I were talking about this and were wondering if it is a pro (4 tenths light)...or a sportman (5 tenths light).

Will there be any time between morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday to rotate or swap tires?

Best time from left plus best time from right, doesn't matter which day. It's common for Saturday's times to be irrelevant since most will be faster Sunday morning.

It's a full tree, 3 ambers .5 seconds apart.

so, with best times being on Sunday, usually...would it be best to have our better tires for the Sunday runs?

Also, looks like there are chances for additional runs on Sunday, beyond the standard 12 for the Pro...something about a challenge or something that you put your name in a raffle for...what is this all about?

ok, so Casey, it sounds like it is the Beep, Beep, Beep...Go light. This should be better for me....as I suck at the Beep, Go light.

he he he.... "beep, beep, beep" ... yeah its a sportsman tree.

I am usually fine either way.

Lets see If I still have the reaction time I had when I was doing that. (not that I was GREAT, but I was pretty good) although being as I wouldent want to ruin a autocross run, I might just make sure I leave on the not red light side of the tree.

Beep, go light would be a bitch. That's why it's called a "pro" tree.

If you have a set of tires that are significantly better, I would just use them the whole event. It's not guaranteed you will improve Sunday, especially if you redlight or cone runs away like I do. The tires shouldn't degrade too much by the 2nd day. Rotating is a good idea though.

There is a Super Challenge where you have to be close to the class leader to make it. Then there is the Bonus Challenge which is the raffle one. It's a bracket elimination deal where you line up against others with the the faster classed car having a delayed start... so whoever gets to the finish first wins. You do one run on each side, the winner moves on to the next round.
