I've read a bunch of threads on the Rolex series and just wanted to give props to the teams racing in the KONI Challenge series. The GS and ST classes have always been full heart pounding excitement through the years. This year brings much of the same. The first race of the season, the Fresh From Florida 200, has a total of 12 RX-8's in the ST class!

I understand this series doesn't get the kind of press as the Rolex series but it's time they do.

 

I find the 3 hour Friday race actually more exciting to watch in person than the 24 hour race. Good to see lots of RX8's out there this year!

Thanks for remembering the "other" Grand-Am series!

2008 should be a banner year for KONI Challenge, with more races televised on SPEED Channel, new teams and some of the top sportscar talent in North America.

Honestly, I wouldn't be near as interested in road racing if it wasn't for this series!

 

Speaking of the Koni Challenge, anybody going to be in Daytona? I'm trying to get there in time (2:15) Friday, will be there Saturday also for the Rolex.

 

I'll be there. Look my up in the ROAR Racing Paddock area. I'll also stay to watch the 24 hour race.

 

If the nascar channel decides to broadcast more KONI races, I'll definitely watch it.
