Looks to be very well-subscribed in many classes. Best of luck this weekend!

It's wicked fast, but so much so that it has throttle oversteer. Boogered up the threads on one of the new wheel studs and by the time I found an M12 x 1.5 die and fixed it I had to rush to the practice course unprepared to buy tickets before they closed. It needed to have the front swaybar stiffened, but I didn't have the tools with me or the time to go back and get them. Pretty sure I can make the necssary adjustments to get it close for tomorrow.
The bigger issue is sound. I was right at the limit so threw on some turn downs that made the problem worse. After one run they were so hot there wasn't any way to get them off and no time to cool them. So potentially I may get DSQd on sound for the weekend. From what I heard everyone was running louder readings than normal so the wind may have blowing sound towards the station or other factors. I'm on my way to get some wire mesh, steel wool, and some clamps to see if I can stuff some steel wool into the outlet tips and then clamp the wire mesh over the end to keep it in place. I was going to buy a pair of clamp-on shorty Supertrapps from Summit Racing and now regret not doing so.

Saturday Heat 1 results: http://www.scca.org/documents/resultfiles/results11.pdf
STR looks like a serious gun fight. Less than 2/10ths separate 1st through 5th place. Good mix of cars as well: S2000, MX-5, S2000, M Coupe, MX-5.

Huh? I'm in my usual SD Tour position; last place, lol.
My only clean run was DSQ due to sound, but my big issue is power oversteer. The car has great acceleration, just can't keep the rear end under yet. Will try a few more things, but I'll probably need to order a stiffer center bar for the front sway for next weekend. Really expected understeer rather than oversteer, so it's a bit of a surprise.
Derek Punch is in 1st in a BMW with a Civic in 2nd. I think KJ is in the trophies in the only other RX-8 in STX this weekend.

The 2nd run I was DSQd on was 93.5
The first run with the pot scrubbers stuufed in the tail pipes was low, but it killed the power, plus one side blew out the hardware mesh screen so I pulled it all off for that 2nd run
on the practice course I was pulling 93 - 93.5 with it open and 95 - 96 with the turndowns on it pointed at the ground. On my final run today I put the turndowns on with them pointed to the side away from the sound meter and was super low, below 80.
After talking to Jason after the event I'm going to wait and see what happens at El Toro before making any drastic changes to address the power oversteer issue. That site has a lot more grip than here.
