Going in, I had no seat time in the 8, so I guessed at pressures...just went with 40 front, 38 rear. Sunday morning I switched to 35 front, 43 rear and it made a big difference in how the car gripped in the front and rotated...I picked up something like 1.1 secs too after being kinda frustrated on Saturday.

Edit: this was on 275/35 A3S04's

Bold move running the Hoosier at such a low pressure on a fairly low cambered car. I wouldn't do that for too much longer unless you like cornering on cords.

I have a custom one off.... That means I built it myself. Used a 16" long Borla XR1 and a couple of U bends. It is 22lbs lighter than stock. My butt dyno could not pick up any difference. After reading that most cat back systems make 2-3hp and strait pipe about 4hp I just built my own to save money and weight. If by chance I picked up a few ponies that is just a bonus. I can email you pics if you want. If you or a buddy has a welder you could copy my system for under $200.00.

low static camber, but should be a decent camber curve?

I have pretty much always driven lower pressures than most...without cording shoulders prematurely...of course that was on S03's with more static camber but no camber curve

I like the wear I was seeing and had some other, more S04-experienced folks check it out when I was running 38/40...they said it looked good, but maybe go a bit lower

also, Atlanta doesn't exactly have a plethora of grip

of course, it could just be that I drive too slow :D

You're definitely right that Atlanta doesn't have much grip. Car has a good camber curve, but I'd still worry about cording the tires. It's my understanding that you don't get much warning before it's too late.

It took a lot of work to cord a set of S03s on my very camber challenged, strut equipped M3. I think they were tougher in some regards than the S04.

it's just a different carcass design, the compound was actually unchanged, it causes high loading on the corners if the camber is not ideal, which leads to the early cording
