Atwater Tour

Looks like a change is in the wind on the choice of tire brands for a certain SFR Region competitor.

Atwater is #2 on my list of crappy places to autox, right behind Packwood, add to that the fact Natls is no longer on concrete and I can not think of one good reason to go. Jennifer wanted to go but forgot she had another commitment. So I am sitting here with an open weekend and I can not justify going up there. Now if Matthew or Carter were going, no offense to Mike and the other guys, then I would have a reason to think about it.

Can't speak for Mathew but Carter has seen enough of Jason's tail lights for a while. Will now stay close to home and practice for at a few months.

Thought you liked Packwood (maybe it was Bremerton though).

Considering the SD Tour was so well-attended, I'm surprised to see only 200'ish entries for Atwater - with only 10 days to go. There must be others who have the same feelings (concrete vs. asphalt); tire-eating venue?

Jason, I was hoping you would come up...I'd like to repeat history and take down the current National Champ in class on my home turf, like I did in '05 in SS...heck, stranger things have happened

The low turn out doesn't surprise me, too much. Since Nationals has gone to asphalt, the Atwater tour has been less relevant. Throw in our losing the Pro, this year, and the interest becomes even less...

Come on now we know that was not a fair fight.... Try it again with a working front swaybar and it might be more fun.

I like Bremerton, I would go back there. I use to drive from AZ to there every year even when they only had a tour.

I'm probably going to register for Atwater.....It's a hard place to convince my wife to spend a weekend....Go figure.

Of course, this will be my first autocross in the RX8 and I'll be on old tires, stock shocks and a stock exhaust.......I doubt I'll be much competition.

there's the potential that I may be a last minute class swapper to BS since I still haven't yet figured out how to slow down the earth's rotation to give me the four extra hours a day I need to have time for the STU car ...

Matt, nope, Matthew is not flying out for Atwater. Our next co-drive is at the Packwood tour and pro.

Mark, if you run BS, make sure you have your car set looser than you might think you want it...

Interesting. Well, we'll see...most everyone who had been setting their cars up for the asphalt sites we've been running was scrambling to dial out push this past weekend...not sure why.

Anyhow, I think it is going to be a Frank Stagnaro course (fast) and entries are now over 230.

Oh you mean typical AAS autox course, sweeper, long strait, sweeper, long strait and no transitions, just a mini road course.

No, that's not what I mean...it will be a Nationals type autocross course...why don't you come on up and check it out? I'll even let you drive my car, so you don't have to ask Jennifer's permission to use hers

You should go Jason just to shut Mike up.

You can drive his car and Sean and I might be able to give you a ride up as well, so you have no excuses.

Shut me up? Hey, I'm not issuing any "challenge" here, just welcome the opportunity to run with the current National champ

Heh, sorta sounds like a challenge to me.

I'd like to run with you guys too , but I already paid for Lotus tires and SS has a good group signed up.

If I stay here I could go to the LB GP. Autox in SD. Track day at SOW or Button Willow. Lots of fun stuff close to home.

Or I can spend a bunch of money on gas and get to stay in a crappy hotel next to the train tracks in Merced and run on concrete.

How about I drive the Lotus and you or Sean codrive with Mike.
