[QUOTE=ULLLOSE]Or I can spend a bunch of money on gas and get to stay in a crappy hotel next to the train tracks in Merced and run on concrete.
[QUOTE]
If you don't snore, you can have Braun's bunk in Casa Winnebago, doesn't help with the gas money, though...

Asphalt is slipperier, so you have to make the car tight to control the ends of the car traveling as much across the slipperiness. Concrete being more grippy, doesn't allow the tires to skate as much, thus it plows. There, how do you like that girly explanation?

Do you guys in SFR have any preliminary view of what the course is going to be like? I'm going to laugh if it's as Jason describes. I'm personally hoping for slaloms!

OK I am in... Faxed in my entry. I am going to make it easy for you Wood the same tires I beat you with in SD and El Toro, plus have one local event on them now, will still be on the car. If you cant get it done on your home track with my sorry old tires you better just park it.

here I sit, waiting in a one city block long line waiting for my passport...and read ULLLLLOSE is in...cool...I guess! It will make the class more interesting, for sure.
Atwater is very forgiving to older tires...new ones would be faster. but you don't give up too much with 40-50 run Kumhos...not that it'll matter if Jason drives like he did at the Pro...I'll never hang with him!
Now, all we need is baghead...

unfortunately the hard labors are not yet complete and I'm back in TX through Monday trying to get my household possessions moved, not sure it will be ready or if I'll have the sanity to attend, we've benn discussing bailing out, both our stress levels are at a lifetime high ...

Fvck you west coasters. It snowed here last night. I need to move.
We basically have two months of test and tune events before the first major event (Devens). Then a mad rush of Devens, DC Pro, Milwaukee, Toledo Pro during June and July, then a long break until Topeka.
Instead of racing, I'm brewing today. :D

Yes we are pretty lucky to have a lengtht season here in Calif. The Atwater tour will be the seventh event of the SFR championship series. Plus, we have a 5-6 event "winter slush" series. Not to forget the AAS events, etc.

I got some news last night that might prevent me from running at Atwater ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Hopefully, I'll be able to take care of the problem(s) this week. The other option is to try to ignore reality and go have fun autocrossing, which doesn't work for me...
edit: I had a couple of pm's asking if everything was ok...it is. No one has any serious (life threatening or health related) problems, here, I just have a couple of items that have to come before autocross. Thanks and sorry if I've wasted bandwidth with this post...

I can relate, I'm in the same sinking boat ... looks like I'll be up most if not all of the night being ready for the movers to show up at my TX house in the morning, I wasn't able to post the STAC meeting minutes yet or do my taxes and I'll only have three days to get the STU car ready with about 5 days of work remaining if I can even make it

And I guess we'll still have to see if both cars or either are going to make it.
