autox in the rain
so i picked up a set of hoosier A6 for a good price, put them on my 18x9.5 rpf1s and put my neovas on 18x10 rpf1s for the street. switched over from STU to SM (SM not BSP bc of a body kit). tomorrow we expect rain, weather.com says "T-Showers", 60% chance of precip. should i throw on the hoosiers anyway, or should i run the neovas in SM?

If you just want to have fun and not worry about it... leave the streets on and save the hoosiers for a different day.
BTW, I'm completely jealous that you're having to make that decision this time of year. Good luck

lol i just went autocrossing last weekend, and theres another one next week, and one the week after. and i did an hpde the week before christmas.
i made a sacrifice to not live up in the northeast, but it certainly has its benefits.
anyway... save the R comps for when its perfect and you got some competition you need to whomp. Theyre expensive. I only drag them out on the better quality locations when i got other 8's to go against. otherwise, no such thing as too much experience on street tires, since youre more likely to die on them. equally though, getting experience with slicks is worthwhile... for example, they dont squeal when about to lose traction like street tires. one minute they have grip, the next... they dont.
