Autox: Tire pressure for 245/40W18 Kumho ASX ?
I am trying to find the adherence limits of my daily driver... So, I ran 3 autoX on all season tires (Kumho ASX, 245/40-18) and observed I get most tire width use when I have 34PSI in front and 32PSI in rear.
Does this sound right?
For daily driving, I use 36PSI all around.
PS tires are not very sticky and the side walls are a little soft - but if I put more pressure, I get faster turning response but less grip...

I put shoe polish on the edges to show me how much of the width is used. Car skids sooner when not enough width is used.... So less pressure, more width is used. But the side walls on these tires are on the soft side, so I need more pressure for faster steering response. Hence my two different pressure settings - higher in front for faster steering response, lower at rear for more grip....
