BFG R1 vs Nitto NT01
I understand the R1s are faster, but how much and how does tread life compare between the two? I have to drive to an event (10 hours) on the R comps, just want to see if I can do it in the BFG or the NT01 like I did in the days of the RA1.
R888 is not an option, I hate them as they don't stick much better than the RA1, yet their USABLE life is really short.
Thanks

New car cant fit 4 tires in there. I can only carry 2.
R888 are total garbage, they lose grip before the tread even wear out. I want to see the NT01 is closer to the R888 or RA1 in terms of wear. (RA1 can go until they cord).

Huh? See all that space? Unless it is NOT an 8...takes all of 60 sec to remove the seats to make room. Qty 4 of 275/35/18s fit no problem, maybe bigger, haven't tried. Put a blanket over the center console to keep it from getting scratched, put tires in tire totes to keep car nice and clean. Then there one other thing that gives even more space back there to allow best front seat fore-aft adjustment.
NT-01s will nicely take you to track if that's what you want, they have big groves for the 1st half of their life, will work on the street as semi-slicks even after that. I've driven 400 miles on them as slicks even to track, worked fine, comfy, smooth riding even. Get the R1s for most fun at track though and just put them in here But generally I've been transporting my track tires in the back seat for 6 yrs.
Haven't worn out my R1s yet but the 2 sets of NT-01s I've owned are without a doubt street worthy, w/a harder compound so last a good season or so depending, from my experience. The R1s not at all really street worth, and much softer, so no traveling with them unless you're into punishment.

Did you get the new 3/4 scale rx8? I have no problem getting 4 tires in the back seat. Nor does anybody else here.

Local guy with a GT3RS uses a hitch from http://www.willwoodsystem.com/ to tow his tire trailer. When he had a 996 Carrera he used a roof rack with plywood, 2 in the back 2 on the roof.

Don't forget the front seat & footwell area
I fit 4 tires with fat Hoosiers, all my necessary race gear (jack, jack stands, etc.) and luggage in a stock class C5 Z06 Corvette. Fortunately there wasn't a passenger or they'd have been riding on the roof ...
