Brake Rotors and Pads

Are the Drilled/Slotted rotors legal for B Stock? Yes I did a search and no I couldn't find anything this specific.

In the Solo handbook Stock Category 13.6 it does state "The make and material of the brake linings may be changed." It doesn't state anything about having to use or not use stock solid rotors.

Also does anyone know how well Hawk Ceramic pads hold up to Auto X and Time Trials?

Can one of our resident experts chime in?

Rotors: No. In SCCA speak: If it does not specifically allow it, then it is not allowed.

Thanx for your response.

Well in the Sway Bar section 13.7 it doesn't state that you can drill extra holes for connecting the end links, but people are doing it. It does state you can drill holes for mounting but not the end links.

Maybe I should send an email to SCCA for a more definitive answer.

The front swaybar in SCCA stock classes is a 'free' item. You can run any front swaybar you choose or remove it altogether. Hence it follows that drilling extra holes is allowed.

Two easy rules of thumb:

if it says you can, you can

if it doesn't say you can, you can't

WRT rotors, only OE or aftermarket OE-duplicate are allowed.

WRT to swaybars, any front swaybar (including modified OE bar), any front endlinks, any front bar pivot bushing, and any front bar/endlink mounting is allowed except that you can't have a strut stiffening bar going across between the two chassis pivot mounts.

I don't know why anyone would buy slotted or drilled rotors, anyways, particularly the low/mid priced products

Nope, nevermind,

Can't use drilled or slotted rotors or it puts you in street touring.

If you use 2 piece rotors it puts you in street modified.
