Club Racing in an RX-8

Club Racing in an RX-8
After an incident at a driver training day, I 95% sure have a totalled RX-8. I'm going to buy a new one, but I'm thinking about buying the old one back and fixing it myself (with the help of a body shop just for the frame damage) to make it into a track car. Just having it as a track car would be neat enough, but if I could ALSO use it for club racing, that would be fantastic.
Does anyone know if the RX-8 does decently in class in club racing?

Don't do it.... If that car is the least little bit bent it may never handle right. You would be way better off to wait till after the Run-Offs, as there always seems to be a lot of cars for sale, and pick up a car that is already done for a fraction of what it cost to build one even from a wreck

If there's frame damage, it's worthless on the track. (boyfriend (ex. whatever) has a BMW '01 M Coupe as a track car that his mom wrecked. luckily there was no frame or rim damage)

They'd have to add weight, then. The S2k comes with better springs, better stock shocks, is a good bit lighter, and has lower CG, with wider tires, than the RX-8. It's just a better track car, straight up. Hm.

Ahh..but you can do so much MORE with a wrecked car, that would be illegal on a fresh car suspension wise...
