i'll probably get underway in january at some point. right now i have 255/40-17 yokohama advan neova ad07's (hence why i have 17" on the brain...), 17x8.5" 5zigen fn-01r's, racing beat revi intake and ram-air duct, and agency power crank pulley.

i just bought a bunch of stuff off of mccall who's leaving the STU game.

* rp supercat
* agency power front & rear adjustable swaybars with endlinks
* 265/35-18 yokohama advan neova ad07's shaved to 4/32nds (used for 15 runs at nationals)
* 18x9.5" ET 45 enkei rp-f1's with hub-centric rings
* hawk brake pads -- hp+ front, hps rear
* ipod adapter -- uh, not exactly STU related, but...

i've got more mods and projects planned too and i'll tackle them as time and money allows.

I'll probably move to STU next year too, since there are some goodies I want to put on for the track that will push me out of BS.

Right now my wish list includes:

- Supercat
- Catback (maybe)
- RB REVi intake
- Underdrive pulleys (for performance and cooling)
- Front/rear strut tower bars
- Short shifter
- SS brake lines
- Body parts (later)

cool, got pics of your fn01rc?

im looking for some sway bars as well, the agency power seem to be popular, what kind of endlinks will you be using?

its okay, ive got an ipod adapter as well haha, gotta have it in my daily driver

Paul, looks like a good wishlist! do you plan on going w/ more suspension as well like coilovers (or springs to match your struts), swaybars, or wider wheels? also, i notice you've got a CG lock, how are you liking that?

I'm content with the suspension for the time being. I have stock springs/bars. The Tokico shocks are amazingly good, IMO. I originally got them just for stability at high speed, but I also discovered they do a great job at limiting body roll. I may revisit the suspension after I get through the current wish list, but for now I'm very happy with it.

Right now I have the 225/40-18 Goodyears... with 20-20 hindsight I wish I'd gone at least to the 245's. When they wear out I'll replace them with something wider.

I like the CG lock a lot. It really keeps you much more "planted" in the seat so you don't slide around, or have the tendency to hold the steering wheel for support. But for next year I'll probably get a harness for autocross use. Corbeau makes 4-point harnesses for under $100 that are good for autocross. Schroth does too, but they're a little more expensive.

i was actually really happy with the way the car handled stock. the reason i got coilovers (tein flex) is because the ricer in me told me "GO LOWER!" haha! but im still very happy with the way the car feels. reason i ask though i guess is regarding how competitive STU is in your area.

im lookin into sway bars right now and i think ive narrowed it down to agency power or whiteline. maybe racing beat if i can use a different set of endlinks than theirs.

In the DC region, BS and STU have very similar times. They're both very competitive... though I'm there mostly just for fun. I dunno about Racing Beat's sway bars though - some people say they're too stiff.

Honestly because they were cheap. $250 for front and back delivered. They are great and reduces body roll quite a bit. They have been the best mod I have done so far for performance.

i dont want a camera mount, its just added weight

as for the bars, cost is certainly a consideration. one reason im a little reluctant to get the AP bars but they seem highly recommended as well

Im in STU and sadly should have just not touched my suspension so I wouldn't be going against hard competition. Next year, I want to finish modding my car within STU and improve on the driver skills. The driver really needs any improvement, lol.

STU is very competitive in the philly region. this year saw a big-time boost in STU attendance. as i managed to remove more and more suck from my driving (evolution autox school's motto is 'now i suck less!'...) i began dicing it up regularly with 2 evo's and 1 STi who usually take the win on a given day. in fact last event i missed 1st place by 7 thousandths of a second. earlier in the year i coned away another win and the event before my 7 thousandths of a second miss on 1st i missed out on 1st by 2 hundredths. and, again, all i've done is wheels/tires, racing beat revi intake and ram air duct, and agency power crank pulley.

so the rx-8, with good driving, can be right there with even more modified rally cars. some on sccaforums.com have already predicted a boost buggy hegemony by 2008, but i think they're vastly underestimating the rx-8. it's harder to make a rx-8 competitive in STU imho and it may be more expensive to do so given how few mods the boost buggies need to do well, but i'm firmly convinced the rx-8's ultimate performance level is greater than the boost buggies. however, it largely does come down to driving. so get into as many autox driving schools as you can. it will pay off far quicker than sorting through mods.

Remember me? Looking over the Philly results it looks like you improved A LOT towards the end of the year. A real lot Your competition may be getting tougher next year though, I may decide to enter STU also

hey it's whathisname with the kimi avatar! i've forgotten your name (again), but yes i do remember you. martin was it? yeah, the start of this season was pretty humbling and frustrating, but i'm definitely trying to end it on some high notes. i should have 3rd place in STU for the season locked up already. hopefully next year i can make a better showing early on.

let me (and the rest of us STU clowns) know if you plan to run STU next year. will NNJR be your home region?

bump

so as of right now there is no autox in hawaii i'm praying for some good news soon

i think i explained in another thread but if you dont know... In april 2006, Hawaii Raceway Park closed permanantly. for a few months we had nothing, then starting in August 2006, Aloha Stadium gave SCCA Solo II a 3 event trial, 1 per month for 3 months. Our last event was October 15th, and we are all waiting to hear if they will allow us to continue to use their parking lot to race in. pray for us guys
