Yep, he already has, co-driving Glen Anderson's car. First event, we had 9 in class and were missing at least 5 regulars...you might have to come on up here, so you don't have to run by yourself!

http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Results...ound01.html#bs

Results are a little "off", as we ran second group on a wet/drying course...no need to say who had the best conditions on their third run

I stand corrected - Jason is now the sole entrant in BS. Hopefully, that'll encourage others to follow.

It looks like I'm going to be driving a XP Miata...possibly throughout the year, as well.

G'luck with that Mike. What kinda motor is in it?

Looks like Sipe has joined Isley in BS. Hope you take your blows like a man Mark!

The Miata has a supercharged 1.8L, about 325rwhp. It could be a very good XP car, we'll have to see how it works out

Right now, we are waiting on some shocks, so it may or may not be ready for SD...in which case, I'll be back to where this thread started, looking for a co-drive.

So is DKNV going to run BSL in SD? With Anna in CSPL and Barbara in ASL looks like it will be a small turnout for the ladies.... Jennifer will run open if there are not enough girls to make a class.

BSL was her intent and probably with her daughter codiving, so that would make 3 for their class

Looks like Isley registering has caused others to follow suit - now 4 registered in the class.

I'm smart enough not to go bragging about local PAX times and such nonsense

This will likely be the vey first event in the car since switching it back to Stock (assuming I get it done it time), coupled with being in Jason's back yard I have no illusions of grandeur

edit: Koni just notified me the shocks should be shipping out tomorrow, one step closer

I have only run in SD two or three times since the tour last year. Come on Mark, don't make it to easy, get rid of the Yoks and get some real tires.

yeah, I'm looking forward to running some good rubber

We'll likely be running a set of 285 V710s, I may test a set of 225 A6s at the practice event, nothing like probing the extremes

You must have me confused with someone else Mark - but I don't brag about local PAX times. I actually don't have much to brag about - I've only been doing this sport for two years and this is my first season where I'll actually be doing a couple national events as well as Nationals.

And my local SCCA region is extremely small. Top 10 in PAX there means you're mid pack at best nationally. My other SCCA region is the WDCR and I've only once finished in the top 50 in PAX there. Top 10 in PAX in that region and you're rubbing shoulders with the likes of Brian Garfield, Ian Baker, Sam Strano, Jason Burns, Lee Piccione, etc.

No ego here Mark.

You think those big tires might require a tire warmer?

It's been a couple years since I did SD last, but are they letting you run more than one class these days?

I'm just hedging my bets...the XP Miata is currently a big question mark, for SD, because it has no shocks and we're not sure if we'll have them back and have the car anywhere near ready enough to go to make the tow to SD worthwhile...plus, I've always wanted to drive a RX8 with the Team set up, to see how different it is, or isn't, relative to mine.

we likely won't get any practice on the car before SD and with new shocks, new swaybar, etc. it may be no less of a risk coming in untested ...

I hear you. From my selfish perspective, if I had the choice between a RX8 with a "guesstimated" set up and a 325rwhp Miata with same...

hey Mike,

if you need someone to get your car to the SD Tour, in exchange for, I dunno, a co-drive? Lemme know I was gonna offer that on sccaforums, but I thought I'd start here first I just hope your car doesn't have traction control, cuz I seem to forget to turn it off at National events

Otherwise, if Mike doesn't want your seat, I'd be happy to heat up your tires Mark

Hi James,
The idea is that I'm going to be driving the XP car at SD and if my car end's up going to the event, Rob Luis has already volunteered to tow it down there and then share the ride Sorry, dude, I'd love to share a car with you, it would be fun.

I might have a couple of other ideas for you, if you haven't already been contacted by RX8 drivers on this board, as a result of you post.

Mike

Looks like BS has comfortably made a class for the SD Tour: SD Tour Entry List

Best of luck to all who plan on competing. May dry weather be with you...

only 155 total entered, as usual people will wait until the very end to jump on board

I'd expect at least 250 entries for SD ...

well she's pretty much back together in Stock trim except for the shocks and rear exhaust, cranked up immediately and ran fine so that's a good sign

I was expecting the shocks on Thursday, then nothing Friday either. Guess I'll have to call up Monday and see how big of a dump the man in brown took on me

I expect the new rear exhaust to be completed by next weekend

Up to 8 entries in BS now too

In case anyone is looking for a place to store the car between SD Tour and El Toro ProSolo, here is the detail: http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/282632.aspx.

Looking for a ride from El Toro to Orange County Airport for two people (my co-driver & I), after finishing Tour and driving the car to El Toro to park. Please PM me if you have two empty seats.
