Talking A couple laps at The Glenn (VIDS)

Just came back from a long track weekend, was at Pocono East Saturday and Watkins Glenn Monday & Tuesday. Took some in-car video at the Glenn and here is some video. The first one is about 6 1/2 minutes of a session with music. The other three are FULL sessions. I make no claims to be a great videographer or driver. The only point I wish to make with the videos is that a RX-8 can hold it’s own on the track provided the driver has some skills. My track day only mods not in my sig are Hawk HP+ / HPS pads, K&N Filter, Dunlop Super Sport race tires 235/40/18 & I remove all the seats and use a light weight Kirkey.

The videos are in the Quicktime format, you will need to have version 7 or higher.

Right Click / Save as 16 MB with Music

Three Full Session Videos

Right Click / Save as 43 MB

I have the OEM Air Box, for track days I replace the stock filter with a K/N drop in.

SWEET 1st video! Love those late apexes. Great song too. But man, I'd get some serious paranoia with those guard rails on both sides of the track like that. I'd be afraid of one little mistake turning into a serious case of bumper cars.

PDA, they run the Glenn 2-3 times a year.

This was my third trip to Watkins Glenn, the first two were much slower.

Yes it is visually intimating but I tried to think of them as blue bushes.... Actually they helped to focus my thinking on looking ahead and seeing where I wanted to be not where I didn't.

Why won't quicktime play this movie for me? I go to update version, and it says I am up to date. Something about not the right compressor for the movie.

Thanks for the video.

You must consider mounting the camera further back. I cannot see the apex in some corners

Thanks!

The camera is a Samsung SCD27, nothing that fancy. I swap out my seats with Kirkey's for the track, I just bolted the camera to the passenger seat. Next time I should have my Autopower roll bar in so I will clamp it to the harness bar.
