DC Pro Strange Entries

I'd agree that it is a regional effect...you could basically reverse the numbers for the Atwater Tour or El Toro Pro. The west coast consistently has low car counts for FS...but, when the lease is up on my '8 there should be at least one more

I think the Devens National Tour only had 1 BS entry. At least it was an RX8. Still, that's a major difference from the west coast.....Muscle cars??? I bet there will also be plenty of gold jewelry and tank tops at that event as well

I wouldn't expect anything major but it should be better then a stock GT. Still a Mustang but a better one at that.....Your lease expires at a pretty good time to strike a deal on one....Then you can pull out all your old jewelry and tank tops.

But, the Bullitt will not be as quick as the Shelby GT (NA)...question is, now that the SEB has approved the "trunk kit" for the Miata, I wonder if they'll approve the FRP parts for the Mustang...buy a used '07 GT in a year for $16-17k, install $2500 in parts and you're good to go...

One event, one result.
I think the Shelby GT is the car for FS, plus it's a great daily driver...about 10mpg better than the '8, for example
Best case scenario allows building a GT into a Shelby clone...but, I guess the whole issue of how much of the bling you'd have to install arises, which could be a deal killer, for me.

I agree, and it's the car that I'd want in the class. Last year's FS champ just bought one to replace his Mach 1 too. I was just making a joke following earlier posts in the thread.
Here's a scary observation...I get better mileage in the Armada than I did in the RX-8 commuting and doing basic errand running.
It may wind up being so heavy and/or under tired (or god forbid, 20" wheels) that it won't be a factor, but the '09 Camaro could make things interesting if you're thinking longer term than just '08.

Grassroots motorsports has a little bit on it......312hp, 18" wheels, X pipe exhaust, sport suspension tuning, 3.73 final drive and vintage styling cues.
Seriously, I couldn't drive the Shelby GT with that cheesy hood scoop and bling'd out front grill. The Bullit should look a little meaner. Still, a backwards step from the RX8 IMHO.

The only thing the Bullitt package has over the Shelby GT is the 3.73 gear...I think the Shelby's all come through with the 3.55 rear end. The Bullitt could be a little lighter, also. The big question is whether it has the same spring package as the Shelby
I agree, the Shelby add on body stuff is stupid, but disagree with the RX8 looking "better"...I've yet to warm up to the body style of the '8 (too "transformer" looking, for me)...but, the Mazda does look good from behind the wheel

I never said the RX8 looked better then the Mustang although the looks of the RX8 have grown on me. I actually think the Mustang can look pretty good in certain trim levels. Still, it's a totally different experience from the RX8. I've driven a lot of new Mustangs including the GT500's and Roush 427 and none of them drive any where near as good as a stock RX8. They may get better MPG and make more horsepower but that's about the only thing they have on the RX8.
BTW - I think the 3.73 final drive will be really nice combination with the 18's....Great for burnouts at the taste freez
Of course, wait for the 09 Boss 302 if you're really serious about the Mustang.

I had a Mustang II (Cobra II) - a "Kelly" car.
I like my RX-8 in looks much better. (Don't care for the new mustang either.)
And, handling is where it's at, Baby.
