Yeah that is cool... When was the last time you saw an event where the guy in 6th place has at shot a the win.
Cant wait to see how Ron does.... He seems to kick butt in the 968, if he gets beat again in the RX8 going to have to start thinking the 968 is a bit of an overdog.

You can check the other thread regarding shutting the engine off for more info, but my 1st run on Saturday would have had me leading by about 8/10ths. The cones I hit were very minor and had more to do with how much quicker the steering is in the RX-8 than the 968 than trying to get too much out of the course.
Sunday we cooled the car the way I wanted and suddenly the car was faster..... Hmmm.... ;-)
In any case, I was quite happy with Sunday's runs. Unlike Packwood, I didn't know I had already won when I went out for my 3rd run because Andy, GH, Joe, and Mark still had their 3rd runs to go too. So I just tried to get a little more out of everyplace and was ecstatic to see my time!
The courses were incredible. 70ish seconds, super smooth concrete and lots of very good 2nd gear with one (IMO) downshift needed both days. Saturday a couple of people went to first in one oher section and it probably was worthwhile, but I never tried it.
When they have the event there next year, you'd be a fool to miss it!!!!
FWIW, I was beginning to wonder after Packwood about the 968 too, but let's just say I'm not anywhere near convinced now that it's too much car for the class. In fact I kept having people ask me if I was still planning to run the 968 at Nationals after driving the RX-8. I am of course, but man is the RX a blast to drive!!!
Jason, I won't be participating in those types of beverages until Friday night, but you can certainly buy the first round then..... !!!! ;-)
