Post Dixie National Tour 2/23 - 2/24

I'm registered along with a 350Z driver Mike. My co-driver (moxnix) will be signing up in the near future, anyone else thinking of making the trip? I have zero experience driving my RX-8 in an autocross, but it's not stopping me from going down there to potentially embarass myself -- while having a ton o' fun at the same time!

I'd love to go, but don't want to drive the 8 to Cecil.

BTW, I have a friend that owns a hotel in Valdosta (just south of Cecil and there's nowhere to stay in Cecil) so I'll ask him to setup an SCCA rate again this year.

Sounds good - let me know what rate he's going to give SCCA members and I'll update my thread on NASIOC with the info as well.

Had a blast there last Feb. Hoping to make the trip again. Three of us from MN flew in last year and borrowed a car for ES. (I, however, coned 5 of the 6 runs... doh!)
Would love to bring my new (to me) rx8, but it's cheaper to fly and co-drive than to tow that far.
Hafta see how it goes.

I will be there, but will also be in my first (or with luck 2nd) event in this car.

Looks like BS will make a full class - 4 currently registered and my co-driver hasn't signed up yet.

Awesome. Wecome to the party. Glad to see BS make a full class already with more people still to register (my co-driver and yours).

103 total registrants as of 10am this morning, with 7 registered in B-Stock.

My co-driver still hasn't registered, and I'm assuming Carter's dad will be registering as well. NeoTuri also mentioned that he's expecting a co-driver. 10 people in a class would definitely be a healthy size for a NT!

Besides Matthew and Jason, there are ten other guys who put an *** whoopin' on mwood when it counted last year...so, I'm probably not one to register too high on the ***-kicking-meter!

Still, it would be fun to fly in on Friday, leave Sunday, and run the Dixie Tour event...just have to clear it with the CEO of Woodco. inc....the wife.

I would offer you a place Mike - but a friend of mine (moxnix) is co-driving with me for the entire 2008 season. If you do come, it would be nice to finally meet you. I appreciate all the advice you've shared with me over the last 2-3 months.

I share CRX Millennium's sentiments - someone offer this guy a co-drive please!

Carter was at the very top of the "ten other guys" comment...out of the top five in BS last year, he's the only one that I've never been able to pull a "One Day Mike" on...I've never run faster than him

Hopefully, I won't eat too much of Carter's dust at Dixie.

If you can stay close to Carter, it would be a great accomplishment...particularly on day two

All kidding aside, he's just getting faster in the RX8, I'd expect him to do very well this year.

I think we should also expect some very fast BS guys from the Pac Northwest this year, as I believe Joe is going to have more time to spend on autocross, now that his daughter is getting past the toddler stage, and some of the other fast guys are now teaming up and running two driver cars...of course, there's that pesky 350Z up there that has been known to throw down some very fast times, also

Of course, ULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOSE is too busy, actually having a job, to be any kind of threat in the New Year

Anyway, perhaps '08 will see more BS entrants than SS at the National!

Looking at the last 3 Solo Nationals, BS participation has been growing steadily:

2005 - 32 entrants
2006 - 36 entrants
2007 - 41 entrants

Hopefully we'll see the class crack 45 entrants this year (50+ *might* be wishful thinking), but either way the class will still be a good ways off SS that had 67 participants in '07!

+1 for Nationals this year. Not Dixie thou, way too far to drive for me. I also plan on the Packwood tour and pro. I bought a 2007 White GT a couple of months ago. I can't wait to autox this car and look forward to meeting some of you guys. I've been reading the forum since I purchased my car and I guess it's time to finally post something.

Yeah this work stuff really gets in the way of my fun and practice time.... The worst was a few weeks ago when we wasted an entire Friday at El Toro, just three of us and a big stack of tires. Damn it, don't they know I just want to sit on my @ss like I did the last two years.
