Experts Wanted: Auto X Setup

So what springs, shocks (coilovers), sway bars, are you guys running in STU class?

I ran ASP last few years with Tein S-Tech springs and Tokico adjustables, Racing Beat Front bar and Bar Brace with no rear sway bar, stock wheels and Avon Tech RA on my FD Rx7 and that worked well.... but the S-Tech's on the FD were 425/fr 391/r and for the RX8 207/Fr and 150/r.

How well does the RX8 react on the much lower spring rates?
Do I have to go coilover to get high spring rates?
Do you need a rear sway bar on the 8?
Can I squeeze 17x8.5 wheels under there without damaging the calipers?

I was thinking of running Tein Flex, Racing Beat Sway Bars, Falken Azenis RT-615's.
Any opinion's welcome.

I concur with your thinking.

What is your back end felt like last time with only a strengten front stabilizer?
I have seen people running 17" in a Type S (18" standard). He ends up wrapping the rotor in a hot day but he brakes harder/later than me . But caliper was safe - just wonder if the cooling will be affected.

i'm building up my rx8 for STU this year in the philly region. since you're from york perhaps i'll see you at ripken on 4/1. i've ordered 17x9 ET40 5zigen fn-01r's and 255/40-17 ad07's which have yet to arrive. otherwise, i'm still shopping around for suspension too. i plan on just coilovers for the time being and i'll prolly end up playing around with sway bars.

just be mindful of your wheel offset and spoke design and clearing the brakes should be no problem.

I could point the FD in any direction with the gas... not quite as easy with the 8 but I know with higher air pressures in the rear I should be able to rotate the car quickly.

Yes I will be at alot of Auto X's this year with Philly Region including 4/1 but I am a member with Susq so those will be priority.

It is definitely great to see all the RX8's showing up at these events. Will you guys be running any track days at say Summit Point or VIR? I here they are a blast also!!
