In most cases you're correct, but in the RX-8 I've seen quite the opposite. High RPMs launches (even though there is more wheelspin) seem to yield better times in the RX-8.

they switched to the .000 perfect launch last year so my times weren't that great actually
and sorry for the long response i kinda forgot bout this thread
ok when i launched i revved to around 4-5k and launched i didn't have any tire spin but i had a good bit of axle hop. i wanted to run the car just like it was normally setup. i think i more or less did things pretty standard for dragging. i wanna get my R/t's down some more though. i MAY do it again but its doubtful i'm more of a corner person / backroad stuff so this was just to kill some boredom on a cold day
