I am not using rails. It is bolted straight onto the wedge engineering bracket. Bt if I am misunderstanding you pm me.

by rails I mean the part of the mount that runs front-rear on each side, the Wedge bracket has a rib that runs across between them in the rear that prevents the seat from being lower, may require custom parts, that's why I haven't bought the Wedge mount

I thought about this option, but as I received the bracket a day before my track day, I didn't pursue it further. Thanks for the advice.

BTW; Does anyone know how much Mazda charges for an extra seat belt buckle?

^^ you have to buy the whole seat belt assembly...I think it was about $160. I had to buy one last year...my webbing tore when my son slammed it in the door .....

Will getting a side mounting seat (Evo) change headroom? (leaving the Wedge bracket unmodified.)

I assume that it will not, but didn't see how they are installed.

Another stupid question; are all helmets equally thick?

I am thinking about either getting the Kirkey or leaving the Speed and modifying the Wedge bracket.

Another thing I am considering is leaving the bucket seat for daily use, in which case the Speed is not good enough and the Kirkey is obviously out.

So I am considering buying an Evo or similar if I can get one at the right price.

All input is appreciated.

Getting the sunroof turned out to be a good decision after all
