Gtec
Ok, it was 102 degrees out side.
According to the Gtec I got.
1/4 15.53 sec
And that's with a slow start, no wheel spin. DSC/TCS on.
Gross weight was 3558 lbs.
Two people in car.

Not a bad result considering everything you stated. But why even bother to do a 1/4 mi. run under such poor conditions?
My best Gtech run was 0-60 in 6.4 secs with a 4k rpm clutch drop. Pretty sure if I got a good launch and got her up to 7k revs (like the car mags did), my time would be around 6 secs flat, maybe better. But I don't feel the need to fry my clutch, so I'm satisfied with 6.4 secs. I did a rolling start on one run and got 0-60 in 7.2 secs. Which still betters Car&Driver's 5-60 in 7.5 secs.
I know many question the accuracy of the Gtech, but for me, it just validates the acceleration potential of my own car.

It was my first opportunity to use a G Tec. So I took advantage of the offer.
I agree and do not like 1/4 mile sprints, but since I just had the car dyno'd I wanted to compare it with G Tec.

I like it for what I use it for, basically a better stop watch. But I really don't use it all that often.
I have the old Gtech-pro, got it years ago, cheap off of ebay. It's suppose to be quite accurate for 0-60 & 1/4 mi., as long as the ground is level, and beats a hand stop watch for sure. The new models allow you to do much more.

I have the newer RR model and got it mainly for the ability to do HP/Torque comparisons from one tune/upgrade to the next. Also the RR allows uploading to a computer as well as a "road racing" mode that allows you to plot out your performance differences for various runs at an auto-x or a day at the track.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it, but to do HP/Torque runs there's a slight learning curve to be consistent with your tests. Once I got that figured out it's accurate from one run to the next. It's DEFINITELY not a replacement to a real dyno or race track timing system.

The new RR is pretty cool. It provides a lot of useful features to help learn launching and shifting. It is also great tool for comparison. I am always changing things on my car, and then going crazy trying to decide if it helped or hindered. With the Gtec, I can be sure if it helped or not.
I'm not sure about its absolute accuracy for 1/4 mile and 0-60, although I suspect it is pretty close, but relatively I believe it to be very accurate and consistent. I haven't used the HP feature enough yet, as I just upgraded from the old Gtech to the new RR model so I haven't used it enough yet to decide if its consistent, but it could definitly be useful if it is.

It's consistent as long as you calibrate it before you start doing your runs and you are on a long, flat road. Fortunately the exit to my neighborhood is perfectly flat so I use it for calibrating, then a nice farm road is not too far away to do the longer runs.

kinda apples and orange, but got a gtimer 2 for bday. have been beeting the hell out of my car since. the last tank of gas was the worst ever. 18.5 mpg.
this is only the 2nd time i have been below 20. anyway i installed the revi intake this evening and made a few more runs.
got the timer down to 14.9 1/4 and 6.45 0 to 60. i am launching at ~6k with feathering the clutch and still getting to much wheelspin. next step to lower rear air pressure.
temp 78 humidity ~85%.
all the reading about the gtech and the gtimer have it within .1 on all times.
beers
