drift=wheel spin with power....plus all types of drift spec suspension....I couldnt see why u wouldnt be ablt to drift an AT with enough power, however u dont have the clutch to feather and get ur RPMS high to keep ur wheels spinning.....

Duh. Any rear wheel drive car can drift. However, the automatic rx-8 simply does not have enough power anywhere in its band to drift without momentum.

Add FI to the AT rx8 and you will have a different machine.

my idiot friend destroyed his transmission trying to "drift."

Don't try either of those things in an auto.

You type like you have nothing but thumbs on your hands -

I hope you want to drift on a track, otherwise you will end up like Nick Hogan

ya'll can hate on the people wanting to drift an rx8 all you want, but I will continue to drift my 8.

With regards to the automatic 8s, i wouldn't even consider tryin to drift it, unless you had FI.

The 8 will drift just fine. I just turned the TC off and went out and had a blast at the last comp here local.

The car is stable enough to hold the angle just could use a touch more power.

No ones hating on people wanting to drift, drifting on the street is a different story.

The car is more than capable of withstanding drifting.

I'm ready to get my next upgrades. New clutch setup and SS line, wide fenders and bigger spacers, and a new 4.777 final drive. Should give me more down low because of the FD and the clutch will help with clutch kicks.
