Hoosier A3S05 tire sizes

Hoosier will initially have the following 18" sizes:

225/40ZR-18
245/35ZR-18
285/30ZR-18
305/30ZR-18

Who wants to be the first one to mount up the 285s and tell us
how they work?

I think the 245/35s will probably be faster. Just a guess, though.

285's will definitely fit? How angry does the guy mounting them end up?

ULLLOSE / Jason Isley got two guys to help him and couldn't get a 285 V710 onto an 8" rim, so I wouldn't hold your breath on the 285 Hoosiers fitting...

The 285/30 Hoosier is a cantilever design and the Kumho isn't. I have already had the 285 Hoosiers on the stock wheels with NO issue. It took the mounting guy a total of 30 minutes to mount all four.

We preferred the 275/35 Hoosier, as (believe it or not) we liked the additional slip angle the higher sidewall provided.

Like you stated you can get some big tires on some small wheels. You do reach a point where you will gain nothing and even start to slow the car down...

I would love to see a 265-35-18 V710 For now the 245 seems to work just fine. Now where are those damn konis.

Just a heads up. I staggered mine. 245 on the front and 275 on the rear. the reason for limiting the fronts to 254s is to maintain turning clearance. 245s just clear the inside of the fender by less that 1/8 inch when new. In the rear, well that’s another story. There is plenty of room for say 300s.

I've run the 275/35R18 A3S04's on 18x8, 45mm offset wheels with no issue front or rear.

could be an issue at a different ride height depending on wheel width and offset

I put 285 Yokohama slicks on the stock wheels. Fit fine. Got 285 for the back and 245 for the front.

Thanks, I forgot to qualify my last comment. When using the spec offset you need to stagger the tire size to insure clearance. If you change the offset you can in fact install 275 all around. :D

False. The 275s fit all around on the stock wheels.

Thumbs up How to you like your slicks

I have Yokohama's sport tires on mine and they work great as both as street and racing tire compromise.

I am planning to get a set of Yokohama slicks for racing on dry days. So since you already have them how do your like their performance?

Mine work great, so I am assuming the slick's are only that much better in the handling dept.
