btw if you can the number in the story, special number for some sort of tracking, I think they will break a set up and sell the front bar only.

I've been in contact with Hotchkis regarding the MX-5 front bar. In my case, I wish to pair it with a mildish rear bar for an overall mildish sway bar setup, hollow for lightness and with adjustability. Unfortunately, both of the Hotchkis rear bars (RX8 and MX-5) seem a little too stiff for the setup I'm looking for, so I would definately like to purchase the front MX-5 bar only.

Also, the article quoted the best setting for the street tires as 44% stiffer than your normal setup. Is that the stiffest setting compared to the redrilled stock or mazdaspeed bar?

On a tubular bar with flattened ends you can get close to determining the wall thickness by measuring the flattened end thickness
personally, I do not like the lbs/in measurment that were done on the test and used by Hotchkis, the proper method is lbs per x deg of twist, typically 5 degrees is used for speedway/torsion bars.
I'm talking with a manufacturer for an adjustable front bar design that I think many of you would be interested in, the price should be attractive too. The new speedway bar I built recently was to test out the stiffness range for Stock autocross use.
