Marek builds a racing car from his 8 - opinions needed.
hey everyone.
Thats it. I went on a track about a month ago and I thought that I would be fine with a stock 8 but noooo. Bridgestone potenza's suck - pretty much constant under steer and stock suspension is a bit rolly polly. So I got hooked on tuning. I would rate myself as an average in the technical knowledge so I have my local mazda dealership helpin me out a bit + I have great prices from them (20% off and no tax) Got my mazdaspeed air intake and dual carnister exhoust for $800 new. which I think is an awsome pirce. anywas here's my plan for the 8. Feel free to add your suggestions.
Stage 1 - will be finished by this wednesday
-mazdaspeed air intake
-mazdaspeed exhaust
-mazspeed brake pads front and read
-mazdaspeed strutbar front and rear
-mazdaspeed shocks front and rear
-mazdaspeed springs front and read
- knee pads
Now I would also like to mention that my 8 is an everyday driver so that was the reason I didnt go with coilovers. Also cause they are pretty expensive :D
Stage 2:
-stock or stage 1 clutch (havnet decided yet but I really like the stock clutch - especially nice when u sit in traffic, its nice and light)
- racing seat
- 5point harness
- rollcage ( not that will add weight so I ll probably get rid of the rear seats and the dash
- new steering wheel
- steinless stell brake lines
- new rims + toyo tires
- stabilizer bars front and rear
- spark plug wires and ignition coil
Also I m not sure how to do it. I currently have a garage for the but its not big. I really want to buy some recing rubber but I just dont have the palce to store it and change it. but we ll see...
Stage 3:
-Mazdaspeed body kit + spoiler
- maybe a new radiator with a breather tank.
feel free to comment on my ideas and if u have some experiance with other products let me no.
so far the car looks like that: ( ya I know, nothing intersting)
