Maybe the porsche club isnt so bad...

OK folks i stand corrected. i just got home from my first track day with the, don't give idiots power. rocky mountain region of the PCA and i had a freaking blast! last week i had an issue with a tech inspector messing with my car, seen here. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-racing-25/porsche-club-bunch-jackasses-215004/

anyways paying for the breaks were totally worth it. my instructor was a great guy and he had me taking one turn on the track at 110MPH! Lots of people at the track were interested in my car. hell for a few laps i even got to trade with a guy in a CaymanS, the 8 handles better BTW . luckily i wasn't the only mazda at the meet, there was a 94 built miata there and he was keeping up with GT3's and **** haha. i really did feel welcome and it was a great experience. as it turns out the event chairman was at the garage where i had my tech inspection done and after i left the old **** that teched my car got his *** ripped and wasn't allowed to tech anymore after that. i saw him at the event and he went 4 wheels off at least twice during the day. just goes to show, you can't give idiots authority

Good to hear you enjoyed the first day.

Turn 1, right where you enter from the pits?
Or do you actually mean the turn at the end of the long straight?
That's turn 4.

I can understand turn 4 at 110 mph, but if you're doing that at turn 1, I want a drive in your car.

Glad you had a good experience.
If you feel that somebody is an a**hole just politely tell him the next time. 99% of the time it works better than mumbling rants elsewhere

The Porsche guys are always pretty cool to me too. It helps gain a little respect when you're keeping up with the Cayman Ss
At Laguna Seca a few months ago, I had a crowd of guys around my car in the paddocks, asking all kinda questions about my car. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of rich-guy attitude.

A guy in a Ferrari told me that FD3S guys make great future Ferrari owners because we're used to having a fickle car with expensive parts. I said 'Thanks...I think'. lol

Is your car stock, or what mods do you have on yours?

Most of the Porsche members are nice. I was a member for a while and never had people say the stuff to other people like what I read on here... hahhaha

This is my first rotary after two Porsches. I do have to say that the last Porsche I had, had better handling (please don't hate me ) BUT it was the 944 Turbo S. Adjustable konis, bigger rotors, brembos, thicker sway bars, the whole 9 yards... ahhhh those were the days. But to make up for saying it was a better handling car, I WILL say that the rx8 is second best out of all 9 cars I've owned

and thats bone stock.

sounds great.
however, as nice a gesture as it is, i would NEVER swap cars for a few laps with someone you dont REALLY know. **** happens at the track, may not be your fault, but if you totalled a cayman **** would hit the fan.

Unfortunately you didn't gain the full impact of experience from this situation. Nothing in this world is black and white, especially people. There are a million shades of gray inbetween. Next time it might be you with 4 wheels off, or worse. I'm sure somebody could probably say you deserved it too. We all do at some point ....

It's good to have rules of conduct when people work or play together, but it seems that the US is filling up with people that like to dish out trouble in the form of rules, and it's good that there was only one guy like that there.

I've even noticed a trend that organizations like to make it hard to pay on time so you can be penalized (pay money).

Beware "the trick", and the "aha! factor"; they'll come to you soon.
