oh man I'd love to make that, but that's the weekend of 24 Hours of LeMons. I did make it out to RedLine's event last month @ Buttonwillow and had a great time, lots of real fast tuner cars.
Hopefully you or someone else takes lots of pics and posts 'em here.

Are you going to the race in France? If so, congrats.

Can you really claim a race as an excuse when you get the name wrong?

I tried to line up another car to drive at Mazfest, I wont take our car on the track with the Solo Natls a few months away, but it did not work out. I could also see a lot of cars dying at this event it, will be a hot one up there in July.

DAMMIT! As soon as I typed that snarky little remark I remembered that article. But then decided to let it ride and take the abuse I deserve.

I would also like to point out that in my rush to be a douchebag I didn't even notice the dates were different.

ULLLOSE, you are coming out to Mazfest I hope! Why don't you and the rest of the top flight RX-8 pilots come out and help show us amatuers a thing or two on how to properly drive an RX-8 on the limit!!!

Move it to a cooler part of the year and I am there.

I have no interest in having the 8 go into melt down just so I can run a track day in July when it is like 100 degrees out. Not worth the risk of a mechanical breakdown with the Solo Natls a few months away.

The thing I am bummed about is I will miss 7 Stock this year. With the date change we will be back in Topeka going for our third BS National Championship.

lol...No Problemo, sen~or egg-on-face!!!

Maybe *one day* I'll be at the real LeMans, driving a Prototype. for now we're playing in the $1000 race car gene pool.

It will likely be equally hot at LeMons as Buttonwillow, but the good part is we won't be punishing my RX8. (16v Jetta). seeing as it's a super-low-budget race in July (inaugural event last year was in October), I see this year's LeMons being truly a survival of the fittest, not the fastest.

Well, best of luck to you! I'd be happy to just go to the real LeMans and watch the cars run around.

And really, egg isn't that bad a taste once you get used to it...

There's plenty of room at the track, so parking will not be any issue.

Update....

here's the RX-8 track riders list as of today... we added a one more. Anyone else?!?!? There's still a few spots left.

Casey H - 2004 RX8 - N
Eddie I - 2004 RX8 - N/T
Gary I - 2004 RX8 - I/T
Hau V - 2004 RX-8 - I
John Y - 2005 RX8 - N/T
Roger C - 2004 RX8 - I/T

6 for the RX-8 runners! We thought there would be a bit more interest in getting some track fun from the 8 peeps!!! I hope to see a few more signed up for the event in the next few days...

Even if you aren't going to run the track, come out and enjoy the day with all the Mazda people and get in on race car ride-alongs.
