A message from Texas World Speedway

(Just passing along the latest newsletter from Texas World Speedway, College Station, TX)

The website schedule has finally completed surgery and is up to date. I will try to add web links for the various scheduled events so you can get to them easier.

There is now an announcement bar on the right side of the website’s opening page to get hot flashes out [sorry, bad choice ladies]. The current one features two dates of open track time events on August 12 and September 23. It is a low fee, to get you interested, with at least 6 hrs. of track time. The event is open only to advanced drivers that I recognized and can check out.

Call or email the office at contact@texasworldspeedway.com and I will send an entry form. The number of participants will be limited to maximize our fun.

There are 26,851 ft. of painted lines around the track and garage areas. Restroom painting is still waiting for a rainy day. We are investigating the use of the traffic lights around the track to substitute for a couple of corner workers.

The best news is that Fox Sports picked Texas World Speedway as the no. 2 speedway education program in the country. Our instructors earned this recognition and thanks.

Please read it for yourself at www.msn.foxsports.com/story/2575060

The Mini Coopers, from all over, were here for their second visit this year. 28 Green Mini drivers were safely and correctly driving around the track by the end of Saturday afternoon. If you have not driven one of these cars, try it out. With the seat back, my long legs could not reach the pedals. The cars handled like a “rocket in a box”. Watch out Spec Miatas.

The track has two storage garages for lease that make a great place to leave your track car, store tires and wheels, or share with someone else to avoid all that packing for the track. Rental is $150.00 per month and available in 6 or 12 months leases.

TWS Tire Shop is re-organizing and will shortly offer, if need is sufficient, a track side tire service to change and store your track tires here. This could really whip the Sunday night grime under the finger nails routine.

Next Motorsports Club event is August 21-22. The traditional cool breeze was blowing last weekend and the temp’s did not bother us. Sign up soon. Come play and have fun at TWS.

Remember, “Tell someone else about Motorsports Club and Texas World Speedway.
