NASA PTD Race Car Dyno Results

Look at the dyno classing post#6 a little ways down on the first page of this thread:

This should give you some idea of where your power/weight ratio might put you.
Dyno reclassification does not take into account the shape of the curve - just peak power. However, I think Greg does penalize forced induction vehicles so adding FI to your RX8 will probably bump it out of PTD unless you're adding very little power. I would not add FI to a race/track RX-8 - just a bag of trouble.

if you're really pushing for every last tenth and hundreth, there is advantage in relocating weight even if the total remains the same.
But to start with, just get the car dynoed and weighed as it stands, send it in, see where it shakes out. Go try out some events and have fun, then see how "srs bzns" you want to be

My understanding is that the minimum competition weight is 3045lbs. There is no way I would be competitive weighing ~3300lb. My current power to weight would put the base class in low TTE/high TTF, which sounds like a much more appealing starting point.
Based on that list and the dyno sheet, it looks like I could start around TTF with stock weight and power. How extensive is the weight reduction you guys are running to get to 2800-3000 lbs w/ driver? Keep in mind I'm starting with a GT and would like to keep the full interior.

I weighed in at just under 3000 with 250lbs driver when the car looked like this but with a seat, a few more bars, different steering wheel etc. but you get the point. It still had the A/C system and heating system intact and still have power windows. Sunroof had been removed and replaced. No stereo, all sound deadening was removed. I don't think you could get down to 3000lbs in a GT with driver while keeping your interior and stereo and A/C and power windows and all that crap.
