AFAIK, the only non-8 in the trophies is Heitkotter in the MR2T. B Stock trophies to tenth this year.

Update - PDF file of current preliminary results
Couple of interesting tidbits: the only non-8 in the trophies is Heitkotter's MR2T, and Isley and Wells are the only cars in the trophies on Kumhos.

Yeah. Carter coned his winning run on the Kenny Cone of the course, and Jason took another win.
I learned a valuable lesson today - run rain settings at Topeka. The car was undriveable yesterday. Today, pulled all the compression out of the shocks, suddenly the car was great. Sigh.

That is averaging... if you divided everyone's time by 2, it would be their average. Its still the same ratio, so it wouldnt change the winner regardless of whether you add, or add then divide by 2.

Time1 + Time2 / 2 = average
Time1 + Time2 = cumulative
They aren't the same thing. While you are correct that averaging the times wouldn't change the winner, that doesn't change the fact that the times at Nationals are not averaged.
On a more important note, congrats to Jason for his 4th consecutive (definitely not average ) B Stock National Championship!

Congrats to Jason for another great, clutch performance...like I always say, not just fast, but consistent...awesome
Lots of other great, single day efforts by many others, but no one else put it together in the same way as ULLLLLLLLLLLLOSE!

2008 Solo Nationals Moment of the Event:
Another competitor proceeded to "borrow" the radiator hose from Andy Hollis' car, then reinstalled it incorrectly and didn't refill the radiator etc., all without asking permission, and had the book thrown at him when it all came out ....

It was nice meeting some of you B-stockers, the competition was very tight. Congrats to Jason on the 4th win in a row, unbelievable. I ended up 13th out of 35 and my co-driver snagged the 10th place trophy, it was a blast.

Some of the people I was working with were wondering how long we actually had between runs since it seemed so rushed.
I was running my maxqdata logger and here are the times between runs (leaving the start line) Chike was 5th car off and I was behind Jason who was running right after the sweep car IIRC so the time between runs here includes running the course, getting back to grid, swapping drivers, driving to the start line (for those not there this can take a while because of the layout of grid and location of the course), and at least for me waiting for the sweep car/Jason. between all that I can see why it felt like I had no time in grid.
The smaller number in the between runs is from driver to driver. The larger is from the driver back to themself.

Hmmm...I guess it just seemed like 2 minutes
Congrats to all who trophied! In fact, congrats to everyone who had the courage to go and test themselves against the best in the country.
I had a rough event-22nd. I think I psyched myself out watching A Stock on day 1 and seeing several top competitors cone themselves out of contention. My plan to go out and put down a clean 8/10ths run first worked-but then I didn't get any faster. Oh well.

Wow..Beutzer straight timed B-stock and A-stock in the C-stock MX5 MSR. We (B-stock) ran first heat Tues/Wed, but A-stock was 5th with good course conditions each day. Another impressive drive from Ryan although Bartek did run .170 faster in the Solstice on the sweeper intensive West Course.
Class Total
C-stock 81.865
A-stock 82.183
B-stock 82.617 (Course sweepers on Tuesday)
Big Congrats to Jason on the B-stock win, 4 in a row in a open stock class incredible.
John and I had a blast and enjoyed meeting and seeing many of you again. We both finished with what was likely our best single runs of the season, which made the drive home much easier. After we both struggled to adapt to the lack of grip on Tuesday, John pulled himself into 6th place and his first trophy after 12 years of trying. I finally got my head straight and drove to within a tenth of Jason's quickest day 2 run, which was enough to move from 8th to 4th. The thrill of sticking a great run and sharing the experience with great competitors is what Nationals is all about. I can't wait for next year, wherever we end up competing.

Yeah, I'm sure all the CS drivers were overjoyed that Ryan was able to find time in the racing schedule to run Nats...
I was thinking BS did pretty darn well, on a relative basis...much better than last year, as I remember (too lazy to navigate through the SCCA web site, right now).
Some other notable results:
Doug Rowse out of AZ, former BS RX8 driver and good guy, won DSP.
Jerry Jenkins (another really good guy) got it done in ES in a Miata...second year in a row that the Miata has won.
Super Stock was a knock down, drag out dog fight, with GT just barely getting past my pal and former co-driver, Matthew Braun.
I'll tell you, it's been tough to follow the results through phone calls and the 'net...much funner to be there!

Well I spun on my fist run on day 1 and my brain pulled "confidence" and "aggression" to the point where I drove like I did when I first started this sport. I've got no one to blame but myself.
In '09, I'll be focusing solely on national tours (most likely Dixie, Atlanta and Devens) to focus on getting it done in three runs. To echo Harvey's comments, I can't wait to run next year - wherever Nats is held.
