New endurance racer build

They look like 17x8's...I think this is required by Grand-Am specs but I need to get into the rule book to make sure.
I don't know what pics you're looking at but the ones I'm looking at, I can see a roof in all of them. If you look at the pics of just the cage you will see the top corners of the cage are duct taped...this was so they could show what the cage looked like outside the car. The cage was then broken down and installed and welded inside the car.
Either way alnielsen's post is going in my sig...it's too funny to me!
And to the guys at BERG Racing...great job, keep it coming! We'll be looking forward to seeing you guys out on the track with us!!!

I thought you were referring to the pics of the cage already installed, my bad. But still, having to remove the roof to install the cage? HAHA! Having seen these cages built for the 8 personally, I know the wiser.

Geez guys I was busy in the shop and you guys are getting off on a tangent... The GREEN car that has a cage is not the same as the silver car pictured above. The roof was removed intially because it was a GT with a sunroof, but having the roof off made finish welding the cage and painting sooooo much easier that when I do the silver car I will do the same. The cage is mostly welded outside the car and is in three large bits when installed.
The wheels are 17's per the GA rules.

On my RX7, the cage was mostly assembled and welded inside the car. The guys that did the work said that it is easier when the roof is off and you can get a tighter fit. You don't have to leave room to weld around the pipes.

Tire sizes are specified exactly, but wheel width and offset are only indirectly limited by their relationship to the bodywork.

Actually I'm interested in both. Roughly, outside of the cost of an Rx8 and race prepping to Koni/GA specs (I think 30K to build was suggested), what does it take to run a team (one driver) for a full season in Koni? Also, what would it cost for someone to simply buy into a team ride (for a full season)?
Hope that's clearer...
Got to see you guys last year at Laguna. Was disappointed Koni didn't run here this year.

For the money costs and all that goes into it you may want to contact Adam Whitener, ROAR's Team Manager, he may be able to give you a ballpark estimate. He can be reached either here through pm, racewithroar...or at adam@racewithroar.com. Hope you get the answers your looking for.
BTW, sorry to thread jack BERGs thread...hope to see these guys out at the track soon!
