I went to Qualcom Stadium this friday night and ran the 1/8 mile track. I had alot of fun. Its been awhile since my last drag race. The last time I race, I was completly stock. So, with the greddy exhaust , Michelin pilot sport tire and Mazadaspeed flywheel. I was curious as to how the straight line performance. My best time back the was 9.8 et. Here are the result of my 6 runs.


Fitst run was against a Caddy sts V8. He beat at the light with a .657 reaction time vs .808 and his 60ft was 2.503 vs 2.455 for mine. and his et was 9.957 @ 74.13mph vs 10.029 @71.54mph

2nd run was against a 05 Mustang GT. The big V8 just pull away from me half way down the track. His reaction time was .713 vs my .837 and his 60 ft 2.519 vs my 2.404 and his et 9.452 @82.87 vs my 9.939 @71.51mph.

3rd run is against the Neon SRT4. This is the KILL run. I pretty much kill him at the light. My reacton time, one of the best of the night was a .555 vs his 1.064. My 60ft time 2.407 vs his 2.435 and my et 9.960 @ 70.97mph vs his 9.623 @ 77.98 mph. Beat hime by a car and 1/2 length. He wasn't a happy guy. :D

On the night I had 3 wins and 3 lost. The fastest car I went up against was a late 90's civic hatchback. He ran a 9.402 et. Overall the car was much more consistant and I notice that the wheel hop was much less. Must be the Michelin tire. My rpm launch range from 3500-6500 and my 60ft range from 2.404-2.470. And tire pressure was between 32psi and the low 28psi.

congrats on the kill, nice drivin. I had an srt4 behind me a few months ago so i dropped it into 2nd and lost him. The guy was a real dick, so ever since then I've kinda had a thing against them.

Wow... 9.93 ET with a flywheel and catback... How much hell were you givin your car? =P I laid down a 9.67 bone stock with 19" heavy *** wheels. Can't wait to go back with my 18" volk's to see what I can knock it down to.

 

Not sure how this is a kill... I know whenever I go to the strip unless it's an event I don't even bother with the lights, I just try to get my best time and I'd bet that's what he was doing as well.

 

Yea, I'm not a very good dragster, I try to focus more on auto crossing. I believe I could have gotton a better time but I didn't want to push the car that much. Considering I just gott a new tranny 2 month ago.

 

What rpm do you drop the clutch at and the you feather the clutch?

Are you sure it was an srt-4 and not a look alike, when mine was stock I raced several times against my friends 8 not once did he come close.

But guess what? My next car is going to be an 8, something more classy, I sure am going to miss 300hp and 310tq though in my little neon
