I thought that statement might get a response. At higher speeds the fans do not move as much air as the ram effect. Does anyone agree with that? I thought that was common knowledge.
I have experienced high speed tracks and low speed tracks and found that the lower speed tracks seem to elevated the oil temps more than the water. Higher speed tracks the water temps are the concern. On the low speed track the car can be driven in 2nd gear at high rpm's which raises the oil temps quickly.

as speed becomes higher, the frictional forces on the fans will decrease, and they will be able to spin faster than if the car was stationary. Up to a point of course.

Since its an electromagnetic system, the worst thing that could really happen (assuming the metals are of high quality) is that blowing air against the already moving fans would cause them to consume exponentially more current from the alternator and battery.

Oh I see where you are coming from. Most courses we run you are only above ---say 90mph for a relative short while.
I believe also since our radiator is at such an angle, blocked somewhat up front by the ac and in the rear by the battery box and airbox---- it needs a little help with the airflow. At a certain speed of course they are not as big of help. That speed is higher than 30mph
You should be careful in raising an old mans heart rate like that.

Here's a good mod. that people have done to increase the airflow through the engine compartment to increase the radiator efficiency.

You basically remove the weatherstripping from the back of the hood where it meets the firewall and prop it up with some rubber bushings to allow for better air evacuation out of the engine compartment. Simple and cheap.
