Roebling is one of the safest tracks in the South east. Lots of runoff room in just about every corner except turn 7 & 8. I went off in turn 1 last year at about 110 and had more than enough room to get slowed down.

I also like how your tracks develop and OD's video makes me want to fly there

Top gear--next time you are down please let us know--our group runs this track frequently--several times a year. Now let me see--you were entering turn 1 at 110mph?
It is a very safe track in terms of runoff room. It is much more difficult to drive it fast than it appears! Its one of my favorites.
Yep that was a porsche boxer with moderate modifications and that was a lotus. I was in an advanced group and those where not beginning drivers. Notice how I started up toward the front of the group and caught up with the ones that didn't--I think there were approx 15 cars out?
i have another vid in which i was catching a viper---seriously. The driver wasnt that good on hard braking corner entry. I was surprised he didnt pull me more on the straights. Anyway its all just for fun.
I was well pleased with the cars performance.
Temps at pitting
coolant- 185F
oil---195F
intake air temp pre blower---- 100F
post blower--- 130F (minimum needed for me--long story--another thread needed) this temp is more or less controlled by my w/m injection. I am not tuned for w/m--use it only for detonation control.
Get this-----I never went over 7.2K rpms!!
There is a secret observation in the video --lets see if anyone can find it--its should be obvious for those that track the the 8

Never went above 7.2K rpms? If you don't mind me asking but why? I assume the Pettit SC changes the peak HP at 8.5K to something lower? Or is it just not safe to run it that high with the Pettit SC? Not fully tuned?

Some of those cars might not pull on him if he was in peak HP, I think the car pretty much keeps the stock power curve with the Pettit, which is what attracts me to it.
I attached a dyno from the Pettit website, its for the stage II
OD,
Looks like a ton of fun, and the way the car pulls with your Pettit looks way more exciting than my NA.
You should but a wind sock on the mic and maybe it would sound ok, it would be nice to hear your motor.
Nice Video Still!

Topgear --hope we see each other sometime. It would be fun. I would like to see the line you take to get to the 1st apex in turn one at 110mph. I must need some schooling!
One thing i havent mentioned is i have the 09 trans in my 04 car. Makes a world of difference.
Lowest gear I am normaly in on this track is 4th. I shift into 6th very shortly after the turn leading to the main straight.
My tq curve ( or lack of one lol) and since the gearing is so closely spaced (i get only about 600-800 rpm drop from 3-4-5) my shift points and rpms are differant from most other 8 owners. 6th however is a true overdrive. I am on 18 inch wheels.
After 115mph or so speed comes much slower. For example when I exit the last turn before the straight i am at 105-108mph. At turn 1 I am usually at 130-135. Could i go faster-----yes. But the world changes in this car after 120-125mph. Aero weakness's start showing and I dont like it.
Was i driving at 10/10's? Hell no. Was I having fun--Hell yea! Its also my DD and pushing it harder is for what point?
My redline has effectively not changed from oem. I can go to 9K and beyound if i wish, but did yall know that the internal forces (centrificul etc) within the engine increase by 1.7 times at 9K versus 7K? Not worth it to me. It seems that I hold my own on track ok
Yall need to take notice of how little my gear shifter is moving---thats due to the motor mounts I made, this really helps with throttle response and gear changing (up and down). + I need all the help I can get.
