The challenge before them...they have been extremely busy lately and are in between multiple projects.

It looks like the street springs are going to be available first.

Fluid, if the drop only ends up being 0.5" I wouldn't see that as a bad thing. The konis already lower the car 0.5", and another 0.5" drop or so would be just about perfect.

Fluid:

If there is a physical limitation in the rear you are dealing with that will only get you to 260, maybe we can back off the rate on the front a little also. I want (More than anything) to have a well balanced car at the end of this.

Thanks.

Agreed. I'd like at least 300# rear springs if the front are going to be 450#. If the rears have to be 260#, the fronts should be a bit softer (maybe around 400#).

Either way, as long as the final production spring rates are in this ballpark, we can always fine-tune the handling balance with swaybars, tire pressures, alignment, etc.

darn I was hoping for something in between the current Tein S-Tech and the now offered Auto X spring rates. Say 300/200 ish with a deeper drop for the street spec.

What made you feel we needed another very similar profile street spec to the already existing s-tech/GF210's in the market? What makes the street spec springs any different/better?

Brice,

1. When will the Autox/track springs be available?
2. Any chance of putting a group buy together for the first shipment of track springs? I know there are several guys on here (including me) who are interested. Maybe a "beta tester" special price break?

I will have two prototype springs that are going to go for $285 I have one customer that is near confirmed. If you want to be the other let me know.

This prototype is going to be the exact same as the production run.

There will be 50 units that I will need to purchase so the faster I can fill the list up and get some payments in the sooner I can get the ball rolling on this.

I will start a group buy after the 2 spots for the Prototype springs are filled.

They couldn't confirm as they don't make springs for the MX-5, nor have immediate access to one.

That street spring seems perfect. I have always wished my MS springs (.8" around) had another couple tenths of drop in the front, but not quite S-tech territory..

So basically the Street springs will have Tein S-Tech rate but H-Tech's drop?

Tein S-Tech: 207/145 - Drop = 1.4"/0.7"
Tein H-Tech: 179/129 - Drop = 1.0"/0.3"

Best of both worlds?

Pretty Much, Jeff at Progress knows his stuff backwards and forwards it was a delight to even talk to him on the phone for 20 mins.

You can pre-order the springs now and they will be available shortly!

I have now added it to the site for pre-order. Watch this thread for feedback and when it will be available.

And because most will be using Koni Yellow's we have changed the Drop of the spring so the end user will not experience a higher than desired drop.

The New Drop is

Front: -0.8 inches
Rear: -0.5 inches

When coupled with the Koni drop I think this would put the car at a sweet spot.

Cito and altiain are th test subjects.

They are to please take very detailed notes when installing and on their test runs around town as well as the track/course.

We want to be 100% sure this is where we want to be and there are no issues.

Thank You!
