Practice makes perfect. High rpm NA requires different skill to launch than Low rpm torque machines (V8 or FI)

DragToys put it best. The only thing I could add is - if you have DSC, hold the button in for 7 seonds to completely disable it.

1. Jump out of the car and drop tyre pressure to 20psi.
2. Smoke those tyres up good to get them warm.
3. Rev to 7g
4. Slip clutch out and launch.
5. Keep gas on when changing gears that is why you have a rev limiter :D
6. Run a 14sec pass. :D

Note that number 4 above takes practice. You don't pop the clutch out in an instant but rather smoothly but quickly slip it out. Quickly....

A solid suspension setup will help reduce wheel hop. Sticky tires will give you more grip off the line.

If you really want to drag with the 8, swap the engine for V8.

Mostly the clutch and tranny you need to worry about.

The clutch burns out from doing this and you always run the risk of blowing your gearbox. Just ask forum memer Judge Ito - he's gone through at least two gearboxes.
