Race Compound Cold Weather
There's an autocross event scheduled this Sunday, and the high is 49 and the low is 37. Just got my v710s and am wondering if I should just keep them in the garage until the next event?
I know if I do use them they'll have much less grip, but can the cold damage the tires at all?
I'm starting to miss living in Florida

As Huey mentioned, no damage to tires by running them in cold weather. They will be slick until they come up to temp though - which might never happen depending on how cool it is. If you can get a tire warmer for this event, do it!

btw: Note the 2010 Camaro Road & Track YouTube in another thread. They tested the auto and M/T versions in both 6 cycl and 8 cycl variants. The test was conducted at 33 degf and due to the cold stock summer tires the 'launch' was not what it could have been (although they did get good engine heat dissipation).

I have had acceptable results running r-comps in cold weather, on a heavier car with ABS and two drivers. When I ran my Mk1 MR2 on r-comps in the cold, though, the tires were so numb I flat-spotted them right down to the steel. Granted, they were pretty worn out already, being the end of the season.
As others have said, I suspect you'll be okay, but definitely get a second driver.
