Rx-8 DSC on/ lap time different compare to Mazdaspeed Rx8 Best motoring
I know this old clip but some of new member might not even born at that time~
On this episode Best motoring was mainly focus on testing Mazdaspeed Rx-8 A-spec .Thst u can get from dealer floors as complete car.
with simple bolt on pic2 (spring/shock,sway bar,muffler&tF/R/U_Reinforbar)
Mazdaspeed Rx8 was 1.58 faster ( Best motoring Editors use stock Rx8 tire as control)
Pic1
What interest is They also test Stock Rx8 with DSC on/Off and complete off pic1
1.12.44 is DSC on
1.11.99 is DSC off
1.11.65 is DSC complete off
1.10.05 is DSC complete off Mazdaspeed Rx8
(Stock tire )
With AD07 Mazda speed Rx8 is able to clock 1:08.7!!! @five lap race toward to end of clip
Can Skip to 34:45 mark that is when Pro driver doing driving impressions on track

Mazdaspeed in japan had more than just the simple bolt ons we got here. They had a reflashed ECU, flywheel and clutch as well. They were based off the base/sports rx8 so were definitely the lightest rx8 out there from factory. I don't think there was anything else different except for those between the base vs mazdaspeed.

I can tell you that’s all meaningless. How you drive it with DSC on impacts greatly the end result. Driving with DSC on requires a completely different style than with DSC off. I’m not saying it will be faster or slower in general. It just depends on the particular DSC system and the conditions being driven in.

Beside DSC like Porsche or some high end exotic sports car, with DSC on that are 90%faster then a lot of skill driver
Most of DSC on this level and my track experience too
Rx8/AUDi RS4/E90M3/S2000/Corvette Z06/Z4M
These system all design that on limit, if driver don't know how to save the car at all !!!!!! The system just put u into understeer pretty early
Which really mass lap time dramatically if, driver know
What they are doing !!!!

DSC off is worth about 2 seconds per minute at the tracks i run. It has nothing to do with saving the car, you shouldn't ever need to save it if you know your limits. Especially in an RX8, its super docile. By contrast these cars' strengths are in the types of maneuvering DSC is made to interfere in: trail braking and throttle steering.
Its understeer city with DSC on.
Its understeer city with DSC on.

Yeah, I was referring to some of those vehicles you listed, which my RX8 is a non-DSC base model. It’s ok to disagree though. Some of the people who didn’t realize they were beat using it also disagree. You’re not fully understanding my comment because I don’t care to clarify it fully for my own reasons.

I bought it new at the dealership in early 2005, lol.
I seem to recall it was a bit lighter than that in factory trim, but not much really. I bought it to run in a factory stock class, but we’re allowed to change some things like lighter wheels/tires, change catback exhaust, different shocks, different front swaybar remove the tool kit, remove floor mats, and with low fuel (1/8 tank maybe) were maybe around 1270 kg
