RX-8 to DSP???

It doesn't even make any sense. Is the DSP proposal dead? None of those cars have any chance against a CSP Miata, so they may as well leave them in BSP or put them in ASP because they're no better fit there, performance capability or chassis type. The whole thing appears to be disorganized chaos without any true objective other than change for the sake of change.

Well to update this thread...
Per the November Fastrack: http://www.scca.org/documents/Fastra...strack-nov.pdf
The proposal to move the RX-8 to CSP was nixed.
While a lot of time has passed (I wanted to see how the conversation developed on the SCCAForums thread), I finally decided to sit down and knock out a 5 page letter this evening outlining why the RX-8 fits the DSP class in terms of its dimensions, weight and power/thrust along with supporting dyno graphs, wheel torque curves, etc.
Hopefully, this proposal will be published for member comment in the Spring.

Comment from the ****: moving these cars would not make them any more competitive in CSP than in BSP. At Lincoln the playing field appears to have been leveled between the Evos and the other cars in the class. In addition, cars such as the M3 and RX8 are dissimilar to the rest of CSP.

From e-mails exchanged with my local **** representative, my letter has not been posted to their forum yet. I made sure to send him a copy of the letter and he will keep an eye out for it on their forum. He mentioned that he liked the justification/comparison of my letter but will see what the group as a whole decides.
As I learn more, I'll update this thread...
