Meet the new CSP, same as the old BSP (less the AWD cars) ...

LOL. The RX-8 won't have a chance.

Although, RX-8 concerns aside, this proposed new CSP does look like a diverse class.

Very interesting proposal. Looks like the Sky/Solstice would stay in BSP with the Evos. I'm not sure which car on this list would be the best choice for the class, but I am fairly sure it will not be the RX8. Still, this is good news for Zelse if it actually happens.

Definitely not a "RX-8 class", but a more competitive place for us to play in SP.

Very interesting. Well, we'll see how I do up against Evo's and STI's this year anyways I suppose, right? :D

I'd rather this new class happen than keeping the status quo. Letter of support submitted.

I don't mean to sound like the biggest noob, but where/how do I submit a letter suggesting I'm in favor of this as well? Just curious.

BTW... http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...93F3188A9D14FC

Yay, me and my buddy against Evo's and a random Porsche. LOL

sure, go ahead and sell yourself short rather than suggest a more logical alternative

Well I'll write a letter of agreement at least to this, while then suggesting my own alternatives..But at least it's a start I suppose. :P

I'd rather have the RX-8 in this new CSP than leave things the way they are. Maybe some top talent will build an RX-8 or two (with this more favorable classing), and we'll have some empirical data about its true SP potential.

I may not be top talent Chike, but I'm pretty confident about my SP build, especially considering I'm doing everything the rules allow pretty much to the car.

That's good to hear. Do you have any top drivers in your region? The key would be to let them run your car back-to-back against a "nationally competitive" DSP car.

Random thought Marc...why run the RX-8 at a pro solo? While it's dead-in-the-water in the current BSP, you'll stand a better chance at a National Tour than a Pro. There is the Delaware NT...

NER Has a lot of top drivers... PJ Corrales (SM), Dave White (SM), Nate Whipple (DSP), and a few others. Secondly, like I said, I may not be top talent, but I'm not slow We'll see how she does locally this year, but I'm pretty confident she'll do fine.

As for ProSolo...Why not? Isn't the point of racing to have fun and be competitive, no matter the odds? I'm not saying I'm going to win, but never know till I try, plus it'll be fun with a lot of the NER friends, and a great learning experience.

Besides, the goal of this project was to see how fast I could be compared to the Evo's in the first place. Higher center of gravity, heavier car, AWD, they have quite a few things against them, but of course they can use their brute power to make up for those things I suppose. Again, we'll see.

Why would they even bother? Might as well go straight to SM. However, my point is that "better than nothing" is a terrible reason for supporting a proposal.

Agreed. This is definitely not where the RX-8 should go in SP.

If the RX-8 DOES move to CSP, then it shouldn't be with some of the other cars moving there is all.

I sort of like Chike's idea. Nate has been one of the loudest opponents to moving the RX8 to DSP. Maybe if you let him drive your car he will change his mind.

The RX-8 is not moving to CSP. They are simply parceling out a large section of the latest BSP class to recreate the old BSP class as it more or less existed before they opened up turbo boost in SP and then started shifting cars around to account for the slippery slope that was created as a result.

Not sure how good Nate would handle a RWD car though Dave..but we'll see. I'll shoot the offer to him.

^If he's a good driver the transition shouldn't be hard, seeing as how the RX8 is so easy to drive fast and it's very forgiving...My very first time on Hoosiers and first time ever driving a FWD SMF Civic I took FTD right ahead of Jinx Jordan...

Nate can drive a rwd car. Just too keep the times he turns honest, have PJ and/or David take the car for a run as well (they are both very familiar with rwd cars).
