RX8 race car removing air bags/ seat belts and SRS

I am stripping the wiring out of my 2003 rx8 as I am turning it into a race car.
I will be running the standard ecu.
As I have removed all the air bags, and seat belts (and srs unit) will the car still run with out going into limp home mode?
Currently the are no CEL or codes come up. (not including air bag codes)

I've removed all the airbags and seatbelts, it won't put it into limp mode. Only thing that happens is that the airbag light and seatbelt light on the dash will be illuminated.

@Arca_ex: Do you still have most of the interior wiring hanging around? If not, how did you approach it?

Burn/remove the light bulb, maybe? It's not too bad when you get used to it.

You have to take off and cut the dash anyway while welding the cage.
Remove the airbag lights while you have it down...

Also remove all of the useless wiring!

Sorry, didn't see this before. In the class that I'm in I'm not allowed to make the car any lighter so I just left it there. I zip tied any dangling connectors down though so they won't rattle around.

Any idea how much the air bag units weigh? Just curious.

on the RX-8, can you use resistors to trick the car into still "seeing" the airbags and keep off the lights?
