It should be the dna procharger kit. That intercooler looks just like the one sitting in my garage waiting to go in over the next month.
409HP? That has to be crank. On the 12PSI kit, when tuned right, with the headers and 3" exhaust and lightweight flywheel I can beleive it. However it wont make that much until almost 9K RPM's.
To mazdatrix, some info on the procharger? I dont like the airfilter size and location. Did you relocate or leave it in the original place? I moved my overflow bottle and I want to build a cold air intake box for the filter. Just something about starting with 200 deg air does not sit right with me.

Found some photos. Larger air filter, relocated the surge valve and the coolant bottle. Running water/meth injection? I would imagine you would have too. The intake temps must be high with the intake above the radiator. Given any thought to relocating the airfilter or building a box and cutting a hole to pull in air from outside the engine bay? Those are my plans, still might do the water/meth injection depending on my results.

There are a lot of "back stories" to the car ---
We decided to make my daily driver (bought it new in July '03) into a Time Attack car about 4 weeks (that is another story) before the first event. Redline was doing up "Hero Cards" right away and needed pictures and specs. We did the graphics on one side only, loaded the trunk with all the lead we had and put a bunch of flywheels in also to lower it. Positioned it with RF in a hole and put a 4x4 under the left rear -- came out looking like a race car.
We had not even started on the supercharger install and they wanted horsepower numbers! Always liked the sound of 409 from my early Beach Boys days - so that is what we told them. Maybe it made the other competitors worry? Sorry for the fudge. As of last Monday night we are at 301 with maybe 8 pounds of boost.
Yes, the kit started as the DNA one we had, but it has already gotten pretty far from the original kit. We were really hoping to "race what we sell". (At least all the suspension and brakes are "off the shelf" from here). On the track we right away had cooling and belt slipping problems. We cut 4" off the bottom of the intercooler and did a bunch of shrouding for the second event and it was much better but still too high on a long run. We just installed the billet impeller water pump and will find out at California Speedway on 5/29-30 if that is fixed.
Btw - We were kind of surprised that the oil temp has been fine all along with only the stock dual coolers!
With the original supercharger kit, and the belt slipping, it was only getting about 4 pounds at the first event (it was a mad thrash to get there!). The belt finally gave up 2 laps into the Super Session. We changed to a smaller pulley, and ran the belt a lot tighter for the second event, but it was still slipping and would stop gaining boost at ~5 pounds at 6500. We now have the NEXT smaller pulley and had both of them treated with an "anti-slip" rough stuff. Made a larger diameter idler and it now gains boost all the way to 9200, as it should.
We also had a problem with the piggy back that came with the kit not being able to control the injectors adequately. We installed a Haltech Sprint RE for the second event. After a few teething problems it is now working great. We were also running out of fuel with the stock injectors so we went to a pair of 900cc ones in the secondary. The fuel now works fine.
Yes, we relocated things in the engine bay and have a ducted carbon fiber hood. Built a shroud to keep some of the radiator heat from the filter and have a fresh air duct going to the filter. We are using a much larger K&N than what came with the kit. We will probably eventually cut the front up some to bring in more air -- but I just have not wanted to cut up MY CAR yet.
We ran a 50/50 water/meth mix (not enough fuel) at the first event, but have now gone to water only. Not sure if it's needed, but we wanted the safety factor. The engine is still bone stock and has never been apart.
It has been interesting, and fun so far. I am still in the points lead for Street Tire RWD!! Not sure if we can maintain that after the next event.

I plan to use an AEM intake for the intake tube and run it as a maf based system.
I will keep an eye on this project. Good luck.

Installing my DNA procharger kit this weekend. Again as mentioned as a blow through maf system, tuned by MM with the AP.
I looked into to the pulley coating and went ahead and sent my 12psi pulley to Carbinite Racing for their tungsten carbide coating. They said there is no need to coat the crank pulley because it is so much larger. When I spoke with Rob he asked what kind of vehicle I was using it on and when he heard he said they coated your pulleys.
Still trying to figure out the best way to make a fresh air intake.
