RX8 vs 1/4 of a mile timing....
Hi guys...
Has anyone of you timed his RX8 with a good timer (G-TECH, DRIFT BOX etc)???
Results???
Satisfaction???
I'll give you mine:
My first runs...
(all in metric mode and in public road not in a track)
0-100kmh 7,4sec and 0-400m 15,3sec or worse...
After the modifications listed at the end of my post:
0-100kmh 6,3sec and 0-400m 14,5sec
Some times I managed for the 0-100kmh 5,8 and 6,0sec but I couldn't reach the 400m because I couldn't shift to the 3d gear...
Notice My RX8 is the standard power version (192ps 5MT)
All numbers are measured with G-TECH
I'll try to find the G-TECH files and upload them... (These are in my friend's laptop...)

I was able to clock my car all stock 14.788 then after I changed all the pullies, exhaust, clutch, K&N drop in filter, and some new Potenza's I was able to get a better reaction time and I got up to 14.479(350z range). Borrowed some drag radials from my friend and got up to 14.238. Have yet to clock my car with the turbo on.

I have the GT-1 and have found it useful for comparing mods and techniques. But I have also had my car at a couple tracks and found it inaccurate. (It said I was running mid 13's when my best real-world run (ever) is 13.997. The track had better traction than the road I was using the GT-1 on so, I think the GT-1 may be off by almost a second. These things can be accurate when calibrated, but you need a track, G-meter of choice, and time slips, to do that.
If your meter hasn't been calibrated to your car, you could be faster or slower than what you are seeing.

I don't know the GT-1... Sorry...
But the sure thing about G-TECH is that when you put it on your car, first thing that you should do, is calibration... Without that it cannot time anything...
So for my runs there is no calibration question...

Times of any RX8 turbo???
I'm asking that because I want to run with a turbo RX8 (high power version) here in my town which is totally tuned.... Of course after finishing my modifications... He claims more than 300hp at 0,8bar...
Please give me times...!!!

My rims are 18inch and 6,5kgr (14,3lb) MOMO TENS and for the first 60ft I need 2,3sec... Of course in 225/40/R18...
That guy I'm talking about, uses 285/40 or 35 I'm not sure, with 19inch rims...
The whole run will be just for 1/4 a mile (402m no more....)
Ah... and one more thing, he has never made any ''illegal'' race like that, he is unexperienced....
I'm always doing such staff...
And also as I said above, I am not going to run with this guy before finishing the tuning with the parts I've bought but not installed yet...
You maybe think bad things about me... not right... When I was a new RX8 owner, the first thing that I've obtained for my car was that is really slow... So I asked for his help... He was upset that I bought the same car with him and he was very very very ironic to me... The conclusions to you...

Here is a video...
I timed my car with G-tech...
The temperature was 5C and I couldn't ''burn'' the TOYO enough...
Results of the timing...
0-100km in 6,5sec (60mph in 6.27sec)
0-400m in 14,6sec (1/4mile in 14,67sec)
I was disappointed with the results, but because of the low temperature, I couldn't do any better...
Check the video.....!!!

Did you read it anywhere???
The weight of the rims is written on each of them (not on a label, but it is written like engines numbers...)
Can you please give me more information???

Charles R Hill has you all beat.
The Black Halo Racing team knows how to do it!
You shud get rid of that junk you bought and replace it with Access Port or the HYMEE unit and the Mazsport ignition.

A quick internet search turned up listed weights for that wheel ranging from 22-23 pounds. Given the fact that the lightest 18x8 competition wheels available - regardless of price - are in the neighborhood of 15-16 pounds, I find it highly unlikely that your wheels weigh 14.3 pounds.
If you don't believe me, pull off one of your wheels and tires and weigh it on a shipping scale. If it truly is 6.5 kilos, then your total wheel + tire weight ought to be well under 18 kilos. I have a feeling the number on the scale will be a lot closer to 21 kilos.

It's a Cavalier
The Gtech only uses the weight of the car to compute horsepower/torque.
There are some advanced options that allow you to do "pitch correction", which accounts for how much the rear drops/nose raises when accelerating. The firmer the suspension, the less the change in pitch.
