Good news, although I thought this would be the case as the 8 dominated in it's first year out. And based on its continued supremacy in this class, do you think there would be any chance the 8 would get bumped up to A-stock.. a la the situation with S2Ks?

This may be old news but it's new to me.

 

I realize this is not new to many but I did not read anything in the forums about the results. There is a post about the RX8 being on the cover of SportsCar Magazine. I have seen so many posts saying the RX8 is not competitive or how much faster the 350Z is that I thought some of you might like to no the truth. When it comes curves the RX* dominates.

Yup. I think most would agree that when it comes to racing:
Road circuit racing > Autocross racing > Drag racing

And let's see how the RX-8 fairs:

Road circuit racing : 2005 Grand Am ST Champion (driver, team, and manf.)
Autocross racing : 2005 BStock Champion (dominating the field, incl. Z's & M3's)
Drag racing : well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad

 

Using Grand-Am as proof that one car is "better" than another is bogus. The cars are all prepped by various teams, with various budgets, with various levels of manufacturer support, all with DIFFERENT DRIVERS. It does prove that the 8, with Grand-Am legal modifications, is a solid track car, but not that it's "better" necessarily than a 3-series, Z, RSX, etc.

And the M3's in BS are the old ones... the E46 M3's are in AS with the S2K.

But the fact that the RX-8 can claim such championships speaks volumes enough about its natural sporting capability.

While it's probably a moot point, some of us have no expectation of privacy on the net or in on-line forums (You shoud just pull the plug if you want to remain anonymous). And your name is on the SCCA website that anyone can get to... and even the town you hail from so what's your beef? Or are you just being you and making much ado about nothing?
