RX8Club Style -- Magnetic Numbers
I am very interested in getting magnetic numbers done for my car for auto-crossing with the same style "8" we use on this board...
I have been talking to Polak about this, and he too is very intersted in this. BTW, Polak is the one who does the RX8Club Decals, RX8Club T-shirts, amongst other items as well.

He said he can do it in other numbers as well, with the same style. For anyone who road races or auto-crosses this can be very useful. Ok... let us know if your interested.
Thanks

i worked Timing and Scoring at this past sundays event.. and DAM people need to work on Color combos!!!! a light blue car w/ white colors is not SMART!!! or even worse.. Silver w/ white is just painful!
if its Big enough and good enough contrast or has a white/black outline i think it would work great.
Anyone got a Font that is close enough?
A friend actually made his own magnets, bought the sheet from
http://www.dickblick.com/zz289/21/pr...m=0&ig_id=2800
and then printed , traced and cutout the numbers

If you run with the SCCA...
Class numbers... Minimum 8" Tall with minimum 1.25" Stroke
Class letters... SAME FONT as Number, 25% to 75% of number height, minimum 4" Tall, minimum .75" stroke.
Number must be high contrast to paint.
Numbers aren't a fashion statement. Some regions DQ you if timing and scoring can't read it. They're made so T&S and corner workers can do their job efficiently and easily.

You saying that the 8 he posted above would be unacceptable?
No colors are not a problem, far as font I can create numbers 0-9 in the same style it'll just take some fiddling, if the "8" is too much of a fashion statement, I can always play it down a little bit.

Kind of looks like the numbers I have been using for the last five years:

Only my 8 is backwards.

I know for PCA we don't use calls letters, were all just OJ
Other than a few of us, it seems that most of the auto-crossers here run with SCCA so they would definetely need the class distinctions. I don't see why that would be a problem, and if you would like letters I suggest PM'ing polak you specific class letters.

Sounds good to me. I want mine in White or Yellow. I don't want mine to be gigantic. If it can fit on the rear door, than that is good enough.
English, those are nice... did you make them yourself? They are a little bigger than i would like, but nice nonetheless.

Thanks.
Most that would use them in SCCA autocrossing would need some combination of B, S, T, U, P, M and the number 2 (in the smaller size of the letters) and need two sets of whatever combination.
Certain regions and autocrossing with non-SCCA clubs might require other letters.

Hey just cause you cant get a chick dont leave out the Ladies classes..... BSL etc. :p
So add to the list: L as well as a small # 1 and 2... In Prosolo the girls can run L1 in a BS car and L2 in a BSP, STU, SM etc car.
