SCCA Prosolo
Time for the first SCCA Prosolo of the year. This weekend, March 5-6th at California Speedway in Fontana. To late to register, the event is full, but you can come watch the RX8's do battle the M3's and 968's.

Enjoy and kick some 968 butt.

No results up yet... But I can tell you an RX8 has the lead by .7 over the 968 of Ron Bauer.... 3rd .052 back from Ron is FS champ Dave Schotz in a Mustang. I will try my best to hold them off, but this RX8 handles like my Caddy with stock shocks.

Way to go Jason. :D .787 is a hefty lead for the 1st day. Very nice. Good luck with the challenge.
Results are up here for Saturdays runs: http://www.scca.com/_Filelibrary/Fil...a_solo_sat.pdf
What Kumhos are you running and what size? Did you get 285/30-18s on the stock wheel??? There's no other V710 size in an 18 that would fit! Unless you're run the ECSTA V700s?
Or are you running Hoosiers?
--kC
(See ya next weekend. I'll be out there for the Tour... you sure you don't want a co-driver? )

I got em.... .4 over Ron, with Dave in 3rd in the mustang and my wife 9 months pregnant in 4th.
I was on the 245-35-18 Kumho V710, they came out on monday. The 285 V710 will not fit, we tried.
I dont expect this to be the norm... Once the 968 has the V710 front and rear, instead of Hoosier/kumho combo they will be faster.
4th in the challenge, damn those redlights.
This car needs shocks BAD. I can not say if it reminds me more of racing my caddy or my suv, but the RX8 does not handle as good as our bone stock Miata. Hurry up and wait for Koni.

Congrats thats awesome.
Where did you buy your V710's ? I called tire rack friday and they said they wouldn't be out till June (liars) so I ordered 275 hoosiers. If they are available I'll cancel. Do you know how much the V710's are?

OK, have not left yet... tirerack for some reason is out the group on the 245... Call Vilven Tire in Royal Il, they do the trackside stuff for Kumho they had them.
I also talked to Tim at Mazda Motorsports today, they were happy to get that first win for the RX8.... He may come to the SD natl tour.... To bad I may not make it now....
But dont worry Pedalfaster, if we do go I will make my wife run ladies, I would not want you to get skirted again. :D

Wow, I was at the Redline Event on Sunday with the S2000 Honda's.
For a beginner I got 1st, 3rd,3rd, and I do believe 1st on the fourth session.
Those S2000's sure have a lot of high end torque not to mention the WRX's.
The driving instructors were great.

And of course congrats on doing so well. Both of you looked awesome on course! Almost made me regret selling mine... then I drove my S2K today and didn't have to watch the gas gauge move as I accelerated... :D
And the 968 was having all sorts of issues due to our Koosier setup. S04's and 710's like different things at different temperatures, so the car was all sorts of wacked out... one end would grip, then the other, then both, then back to one end. Sigh.

As for 968 tires, Ron called Mike @ Vilven and Kumho Technical Center and neither have seen them yet. Still "a couple of weeks"... so maybe in time for Atwater, but unlikely for next weekend. Ron's gonna call back Thursday to see if they've found any in any of the containers...

I think by this weekend Barbara and Tom will have the V710.
